Our GP listened to my eldest son describing the anxieties and traumas he goes through everyday that affect his ability to even seek work, let alone be taken on by anyone. Without his "fit note" he would be hounded by Universal Credit to be constantly looking for, or training for work. Rishi Sunak does not share an appreciation of our world experiences. That is why I have signed this petition.

I have not written here for a while, feeling the world has changed and my place within it. Like many of you, I feel I am constantly working and rarely have time for myself to reflect on some of the bigger issues. I try to practice what I preach to clients I see in counselling, though even I sometimes struggle to take time for myself, to rest and recharge and connect with nature. Obtaining a healthy work - other life balance is an ongoing juggle and feels a little like having too many plates spinning at the same time. This in itself brings a sort of pressure.
This morning, like most mornings, I think about what I am grateful for, to ground myself as to what is really important. The sleep I am able to get in a comfortable, warm bed. The food in my cupboards, fresh water tapped to my home. Access to books, music, radio programs, the internet of knowledge for contacting those I care about and research for my studies. My friends and the support they give me. I am grateful to be working, learning and earning, even if it is not quite enough to cover all the costs of my commitments. Life seems hard, but in comparison to the suffering of others across our planet, I know I am blessed.
I'm not quite sure what I am trying to say here today, but to let you know that it is ok to just be yourself, keep connecting with others and showing kindness whenever you can.
