Last batch of candles made, just need topping up later, 50 candles in total this week. 3 new scents in a small batch to see how they sell this weekend as well as the new bigger candles to test the market could be an interesting couple of days at Pooley this weekend
Candle making has been in progress over past 2 days. 38 candles made so far and I still need to make more medium sized votives. I've been trying something new as in using containers that need 2 or 3 wicks and I'm pleased at how they've turned out
Just finished this sleeveless top in 100% cotton. The colours/stripes remind me of Bagpuss for some reason. It's a medium, 38" bust and will be available at the next Pooley Bridge craft fair, 20th and 21st July. £30
Normally I source as many of my candle glasses and cups from charity shops but recently it's become more hit and miss as to if any are available, possibly due to the cost of living crisis. I did get 6 sets of espresso cups over the past couple of weeks but no glasses so when I was ordering scents I ordered some. Thought I'd try some of their 2 and 3 wick glasses/jars as they were on special offer price. Although the blurb told me the amount of wax needed for each I didn't check just how big the 3 wick one was - 5 inches tall and almost 5 inch width! The 2 wick one has an acrylic lid which took me a while to figure out how to remove it so not sure I will use it once filled with wax. The other 2 sizes are my small and medium votive sizes
Finally finished the gloves today to go with the cowl and hat I crocheted whilst at Pooley Bridge fair at the weekend. As the weather was nice yesterday i gave myself a day off crafting, apart from doing a candle scent order, and spent a bit of time in the garden dealing with weeds
What a weekend at Pooley!! Started off a bit strange as we've had a changing of the guard but I can't remember a weekend when I sold so many candles that I came home with only one 3/4 full box and an empty box! Crocheted items sold quite well too but no prizes for guessing what my first job tomorrow will be
Set up at Pooley Bridge craft fair, open 10 to 4 today and tomorrow. Latest makes this past 10 days are a child's hat, a large hat (suitable for men,) a penguin and an order of a pink and cream baby's cot blanket.
Cowl, hat and gloves set just finished and packed in the car ready for Pooley Bridge craft fair tomorrow and Sunday. Cowl is £14, hat and gloves £6.50 each
Just finished sewing up this vest top. Crocheted in 100% cotton 4 ply, medium size (36/48") £30.
Will be available at Pooley Bridge craft this weekend, 22nd and 23rd, 10 till 4 each day
Have just topped up some orange essential oil candles which were made earlier this afternoon and as they are setting the tops are looking 'lumpy'. Will be interesting to see how well they set when completely cold
Due to good sales last weekend I've been making candles again this morning. 3 different scents done at present time, which are the ones selling well, next will be a couple of new scents just to add variety and choice to my stock
Another cowl, hat and granny square gloves off the hook last night. Cowl £14, gloves and hat £6.50 each
Pair of granny square gloves and a hat to match the earlier blue cowl now finished and on my table at Pooley Bridge
Just finished this multi blue cowl in time to pack it in the car with the rest of the stock ready for Pooley Bridge craft fair this weekend, 10 to 4 both days. Granny square gloves will get finished tonight and will make a matching hat tomorrow
Candle making afternoon. 28 candles in assorted containers and 5 different scents
Another cowl, hat and gloves set finished last night. Im liking the way the colours have worked out so am looking forward to using the other 3 colourways I have in this wool brand but need to buy buttons for them
Brilliant 3 days at Pooley Bridge craft fair, thank you to everyone who bought from me, from candles to penguins and bears to the cream cotton top which looked absolutely lovely on it's recipient. I did manage to get the cowl with matching hat and a pair of dragonscale gloves in the photos made over the 3 days plus start another cowl. Next is to make candles to replace the dozen or so that were sold
Couple of pairs of fingerless gloves, one with matching hat, made the past 2 days. Both colourway have matching cowls/hats in the boxes which are loaded in my car ready for Pooley Bridge craft fair over this weekend
Just finished this long (as my mam would say 'a bottom warmer') two tone grey short sleeved gilet. Pattern said it was a medium but it's actually more a 16/18. Will be available at Pooley Bridge craft fair over this coming bank holiday weekend, Saturday , Sunday and Monday, 10am to 4pm
It's taken 24 days but I've finally finished crocheting the granny square blanket. In 15 colours it measures just under 5 ft square at 59 x 59 inches but I did decide not to add the last 5 colours on the border sticking with 10 rows. Now getting a 2nd block on the spare bed (a 4ft one) £75
During breaks from the granny square blanket I've made a lap blanket in grey, cream and red chunky yarn in a chevron pattern
44 x43 inches. £30
Both blankets will be available at Pooley Bridge this weekend 11th and 12th May
Another good weekend at Pooley Bridge and I made this cream Aran cowl with matching hat and gloves ready for our next fair in 2 weeks time. Cowl is £15 and the hat and gloves £6.50 each
Second hat in this style and colour, replacing the ones sold two weeks ago and matching up with the cowl and gloves I still have in stock. £6.50 each, available from our craft fair at Pooley tomorrow and Sunday 10am to 4pm
Blanket that was ordered at Easter, completed last Wednesday and posted to it's new owner. 55 x 36 inches in latte and cream
Cowl in Caron simply soft finished ready for Pooley Bridge this weekend. Been a busy couple of weeks, finished and posted out a blanket which had been ordered at Pooley and started a second blanket but needed a smaller project so made the cowl and have just started a hat
After a super Easter weekend we are back at Pooley bridge tomorrow (13th) and Sunday. Replacing the goods that sold has been a mammoth task, didn't quite get there but following photos are of what I've made this past two weeks. 4 pairs of dragonscale gloves, 4 purses, a knitted tea cosy for an order and a variety of candles, I especially love the turtle votive and the votive holder with the glass drops. The blanket is made from chunky with merino wool.
Absolutely super sales at Pooley over the Easter weekend means more stock needed for the next fair in 2 weeks time. Between crocheting I've been making replacement candle stock plus trying out a new scent and I'm a bit of a saddo as I love watching then change colour as they set 😍.
Set up at Pooley Bridge this morning, no doubt I will tweak it over the next 3 days
Car is packed ready, its an early start tomorrow morning for my first craft fair, a 3 day weekend at Pooley bridge. I've got one or two new lines for this year so will be interesting to see how they are received.
It's going to be candle making this weekend ready for first craft fair at Pooley over the Easter weekend. Needed more wax so when ordering that I ordered some new scents as well...flower bomb, relaxing embrace, oud, cherry blossom and plum, blueberry and vanilla, lemongrass and ginger, coffee mocha and black plum and rhubarb. Forgot how heavy 20kg is when lifting off the ground where the delivery driver left it!!
