The Boathouse Antrim

The Boathouse page has received a significant number of messages in recent weeks, since the restaurant closed. Unfortunately, we have been unable to respond to everyone. We have been focussed on re-employing staff and working with suppliers through the closure process.

We would like to say thank you to our customers and staff who have supported us through what has been a very turbulent 3 years for the entire hospitality industry.

Unfortunately, whilst our award-winning restaurant was popular and very busy, rising costs (e.g. a pallet of potatoes increased from £350 to £1,200, 350% increase in utility prices); and problems with the building from day one proved to become unsustainable from a financial perspective. For example, the building had no drinks licence for three months, a third of the restaurant was unable to accommodate children due to licensing issues, inability to use the outdoor balcony space for three years, gas supply issues, electrical issues, leaking roof, roof extraction problems resulting in closure of our pizza section for a full week in June 2023, which were all elements outside of our control.

Since opening the Boathouse in 2019, we are proud to have injected over £7m into the local economy through employing local people, and expenditure with local suppliers. We are pleased to continue to support and enhance the local economy through our family run business at Top of the Town.

We are very excited to bring our delicious woodfired Boathouse pizzas to Top of the Town, with fresh dough made daily in-house and pizzas cooked to order by our resident pizza chef Sami.

We have also reintroduced our famous breakfast 7 days a week, which has proven to be very popular, and we look forward to welcoming you to Top of the town.
