Having just arrived back from a road trip in California, feeling fitter, healthier and happier than I have in a long time, I have headspace to think about what and why I specialise in early years play-based learning and development. Also, why I love what I do so much.

I have always been that person that spends less time in the gym and more time in the mountains, on a bike/roller skates or in a river/sea. I love to play, actually playing is an essential of my life. Hence, specialising in play-based learning is just an extension of who I am and what I believe in.

Now that I have embarked on developing Minmoov, an online programme, I certainly don’t want to lose touch with what I essentially love, working with teachers, early years practitioners and PE teachers. That is why I still run B inspired, so that I can continue work with schools, early years settings and other organisations to develop their early years provisions.

Early years movement to music is a favourite here at B Inspired. Armed with a few colourful resources and a variety of music can keep children engaged and moving in so many ways.

18/02/2022

We thought this would be suitable for a day spent with Storm Eunice!
If ever there was weather that meant we shouldn’t go outside, it’s high winds.
If you need to stay in, it’s still a good opportunity to teach children about wind and prepare for when we can go out again.

Learning words in the early years is always so much easier with flashcards and engaging physical activities where they get to act out the word.

Allows children to make sense of the words.

One of the main reasons for developing Mini Movers is to provide ideas, resources, downloads and videos to support a play-based curriculum and to give parents ideas to support their children to naturally learn and develop through movement and play.

Photos from Inspired to Move's post 25/08/2021

Last week I was fortunate enough to be involved in my absolute favourite even, Movement Matters, presented by , , and myself, with an amazing group of mother and babies. ⠀

Following 3 fab workshops I was involved in a discussion about the importance of movement for babies and young children (oh, and let’s not forget about the rest of us…)⠀

I have not been able to stop thinking about the event last week and wanted to share some of the thoughts from the session:⠀

• Being a parent is hard, if you thing someone else is smashing it, they may just be pretending. Comparing yourself with others will just set yourself up for unrealistic expectations. It's a challenge, period.⠀
• Our default tends to be looking at what we have done wrong, instead of what we have done right. If you have created a beautiful child and you are keeping them safe, happy and healthy, you are doing A LOT right!⠀
• Lean on your friends. They are your best cheerleaders. If you are questioning yourself, they can remind you how amazing you are. Oh, and we really don’t need those negative ones.⠀
• We are constantly growing and changing, becoming a mother just speeds that process up a fair bit. Instead of feeling like you have lost your pre-baby self, see this as part of the growing process. Think about what you loved doing before you had your baby and find ways to do it with them. If this is something active and outdoors, everyone is a winner.⠀

I would also like to give an extra-special cheer to moms (and dads) who have had babies during the pandemic. It has been tough, you are great.⠀

Just to round off the afternoon, there were amazing cake by , skin advice and goodies by , an incredible gift bags from with extra little discounts from and .

The beautiful pictures were taken by
