We are delighted to invite you to our open day on Saturday 13th July.

After a year of restoration work we have a new home in the old Lloyds Bank building in Crewkerne and we would love to show you around.

There will be refreshments, a chance to meet the team and an opportunity to ask any questions regarding funerals and funeral planning.

We often get asked what areas do we cover? The answer is anywhere the family would like the service to be. Today, Tracey travelled to the most beautiful St. Peter's Church, in Goytre, near Usk in Wales. It was a beautiful, intimate service created by the family and led by the minister. Creating family funerals tailored to their wishes is what we do best.

Today, we were very privileged to provide a lovely family with after funeral refreshments in our brand new function room.

We we are finally in!! We would like to introduce you to Stoodley and Son's brand new funeral home in Crewkerne. As an established part of the community for nearly 100 years we are proud to bring you a service that's unique, personal, and tailored to your needs.

After a year of sympathetic renovations to this historic Grade 2 listed Georgian building (formerly Lloyds Bank), we have created a stunning new funeral home.

We've created a relaxed and homely environment and a beautifully decorated chapel of rest.

Tracey, Colin, Becky and our dedicated team will guide you through every stage of the funeral, offering support and reassurance from the first call to the final goodbye and beyond.

Sneaky peak. Its been a stunning transformation, lasting nearly a year. Restoring this beautiful Grade 2 Listed Georgian House back to its original splendour and keeping a few nods to the old bank. Stoodley & Son, providing you with the support, dignity, and care when you need us the most.

This is the first time to use our beautiful new drive to the back of our new funeral home and we couldn't resist a team photo.
The newly planted garden is looking amazing, and the planting is focused on bringing back the wildlife to the garden. The blackbirds are loving it already. 🌻🌸🌼🐦‍⬛🐦

A very special thank you from a very special family. Some of you have noticed the owl in our logo. Barn owl's have a very special significance, in ancient Egypt, barn owls were actually tasked with guiding and protecting the souls of the deceased to the afterlife. Guiding, supporting and reassuring just like our team at Stoodley & Son.

Lots of people have been asking about the move into Lloyd's Bank in the Spring. We thought we would give you a sneak peak of some of the challenges we've faced. The Georgian building, sadly has none of its original features inside, they were removed by the Wilts and Dorset Bank. We are trying to maintain some of the integrity of the building though suspended ceilings packed with wires, old coms systems and even original safes have been a challenge. We are keeping some of the original bank features, and the decor will be very sympathetic to the building. It's a long way to go but we can't wait to be able to show you all around at our open day in the Spring.

Thank you to all the lovely children of South Petherton Infants and Pre-School for helping us decorate our windows to remember the sacrifices of the military and civilian servicemen and women who fought and died for our freedoms and values.

We had so many wonderful poppies that the children can also look out for their poppies in The Secret Garden florists who are also sharing them in their window display!

We are also selling Poppies for the so please pop on if you need one. 🌺

Just a gentle reminder for anyone thinking about ordering ashes jewellery. We have to have orders in for by the 18th November for any jewellery to be ready before Christmas. 💍❤️🎄

Remembering all those that have gone before us. A beautiful service of reflection we be held at St. Peter & St Paul's Church South Petherton on 2nd November. All are warmly welcomed.

We can not wait to open the doors to our new premises in Crewkerne. The workmen are doing an amazing job creating a warm and welcoming space for our bereaved families.
We will be holding a grand opening event to celebrate our new home in the spring. Keep watching for updates.

Sadly this seems to be becoming more and more common. We have noticed that a number of road users and pedestrians seem unsure of how they should act upon meeting a funeral cortege.

Below are some tips on 'Cortege Etiquette'. In following these tips we can all make the families journey slightly easier and their loved ones final journey a safe and peaceful one too. xx
