Sat mattinee sold out !
Well it’s a whole year today since our sensational centenary concert!!!
It’s heartbreaking that we have lost our venue in Gateshead and it would take lottery win to afford to take to the Tyne Theatre stage again .
Thankfully we have all survived another year and enjoyed our individual projects , and stayed in touch
I’m looking forward to seeing lots of you at my birthday bash on the 23rd Feb to find out all your news .
Here’s to another year of music and laughter for us all 🍷
Bruce Thomas Nicholson
South Shields
Very suddenly passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on the 18th May 2023, aged 60 years. Adored husband of Sacha and devoted father of Charis, Fraser and Autumn.
Please meet at South Shields Crematorium on Thursday 8th June at 2.45pm and afterwards at Whitburn Cricket Club to celebrate the life of a truly wonderful man, all are welcome to join.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu will be gladly received for True Colours Theatre Group, TinArts, Felling Stage Society and Whitburn Cricket Club – places all very close to Bruce’s heart and that meant so much to him and his family.
Onto the “Divas”
The amazing Claire Wharton
Claire joined Felling in 1976 for our production of Student Prince, and caught the acting bug . She then joined other groups and went on to play on the Tyne theatre stage as Mrs Anna in the King and I , then Nancy in Oliver , Eliza in My Fair Lady , amongst numerous others .
Taking a break , she joined a rock band and fronted both time Flies and O***m touring for 12 years around the North East club venues .
As everything turns full circle she was persuaded by Bea , to return to the stage as Carlotta in Follies .
Claire dreads a phone call from Bea, as it normally means “I need you to do a concert , or I’ve got the perfect part for you!” ,
She then performed the role of the stripper Mazzepa in Gypsy after much cajoling .
Also alongside Bea , Michael Geddes and Bruce Nicholson she has so far , done five , of the fund raising concerts for Felling , and couldn’t say no to the fabulous role of Joanne in Company
Also Potiphar s wife in Joseph .
She reckons that this will be the last , but is looking forward to our party on stage in our A Centenary Celebration – 100 years of Felling Stage Society
A few glasses of champagne have been promised to get her up there!!! 😂😂
Please support our Fundraiser !
