Lyrarakis Assyrtiko Viola - Assyrtiko from Crete. Citrus, stone fruit and herbal notes. Crisp and mineral.

Besas Grüner Veltliner - Grüner from Austria. Organic. Typical Grüner pepper on the nose. Aromatic herbs and stone fruit on the palate.

Martín Códax Orange Wine - Albariño from Rías Baxas, Spain. Fermented and aged on skins. Think orchard fruit, good tannins and fresh acidity. Perfect orange wine to try.

Moulin a Vent X&N Barbet - Gamay from Beaujolais, France. Fresh, lively and juicy, very drinkable.

Stoneweaver, Huia - Pinot Noir from Marlborough, NZ. Organic. Dark cherry, plum and spice.

Weingut Thörle, Spätburgunder - Pinot Noir from Rheinhessen, Germany. Biodynamic. Intense aromas of wild berries and cherries hints of spice.

Tastings are back 💥

Last night we hosted a Portuguese tasting with Pedro from . We’ve worked with Esporao for a long time and it was a great evening to showcase their wines. 6 delicious wines with 3 courses. The menu was Portuguese inspired:
1. Sardines on Cornmeal Bread
2. Beans with Chicken and Chorizo served with tender stem Broccoli
3. Caramel Bread Pudding

It was the first tasting we’ve held in a few years at F&F and we think it was a great success - excited for some more🤞🏻

Burns night supplies 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Lanark Blue - Scotland’s answer to Roquefort. An unpasteurised sheep’s milk cheese; rich, creamy and sharp. The sharpness of the blue works a treat with the peaty, smoky Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10YO whisky.

Isle of Mull Cheddar - made with unpasteurised cow’s milk and aged for 18 months. Firm in texture with a strong tangy flavour. Try with Tobermory 12YO matured in ex-bourbon casks slightly sweet and floral. The distillery provides whisky grains for the cows to feed on alongside their rich pastures.

Try with Aberfeldy Oatcakes made to a traditional recipe using oatmeal.

And if whisky is not your thing then why not pick the aptly named ‘Bobbie Burns Shiraz’ from Rutherglen in Australia. Full bodied, with rich dark fruit flavours.
