A stroke can happen anytime and anywhere.
By the end of today, 25 people across Scotland will have suffered a stroke. The same will happen tomorrow.
If you suspect a stroke, act FAST and call 999.
Think FAST is a simple way to recognise the signs of a stroke:
👤 FACE – Can the person smile, does one side of their face droop?
💪 ARM – Can they lift both arms? Is one weak?
💬 SPEECH – Is their speech slurred or muddled?
⏰ TIME – If ANY ONE of these signs or symptoms are present, call 999.
The sooner a person receives treatment for a stroke, the better the outcome is likely to be.
Please share this message far and wide, and make sure your friends and family know what to do in an emergency. 🙌

We have had an increased number of reports of sickness and diarrhoea cases in young children, particularly in the local nursery settings. This is a reminder to all parents and carers that children should not return to nursery or school until 48 hours after their symptoms have stopped and the child is feeling well. This is essential to help prevent the spread of these illnesses and allow these settings to stay open.
There are many bugs that can cause diarrhoea. Reduce your risk by washing your hands regularly with soap and warm water and if you become ill, if possible, stay home until 48 hours after your symptoms have gone.
