END OF YEAR NEWSLETTER!

The PTA have created a newsletter summarising where we have raised money, where the money has been spent this year and asking for some more volunteers!

Our AGM meeting will be end of September/beginning of October. This is a key meeting where the executives are elected, we summarise finances and look towards what events we would like to plan for the year. Keep an eye out when we return in September for more details!

A massive thank you to everyone who volunteered at today's The Piddle Wood Plod 10k . Without you, we couldn't host it and make an epic £1200 for the school 👏. The biggest shout out goes to the pupils that came along to help, you were fantastic and showcased what Thurlbear CE VA Primary School is all about.

➡️ Could you volunteer on the day? We need car park marshalls (9.30 to 11) and cake sellers (11.45 to 12.45).
🍰 Hungry runners need cake and are very generous with the money they gives us. Please could you bake a yummy cake?

🎵🕺 Our summer term school disco is nearly here 🎵🎉
We still need a few more volunteers for our KS2 disco so let us know if you are able to help 😊

HELP!

The last school disco of the year is happening on Friday 14th June!

We can't run this event without a small army of helpers- can you help?! We are after 10 volunteers for each part of the disco.

Reception + KS1 volunteer time 5:50pm- 7:10pm

KS2 volunteer time
7:05pm- 8:30pm

Please comment below with which KS you would like to volunteer yourself to help for. The disco is always a very popular event to volunteer to help with, and also one of the rare times we have to turn down additional volunteers! Volunteers will be chosen on a first come, first served basis. Those wishing to help at both parts of the disco will be selected as priority. If we do not have enough volunteers for BOTH parts of the disco, then we will sadly have to cancel it.

Also a big thank you to those who orchestrated interactive elements to the fair including a Choir performance, a chance to try May Pole dancing, and a surprise visit from a team of paramedics and their ambulance!

A huge thank you to everyone who came and supported our Thurlbear CE VA Primary School May Fair yesterday. An even bigger thank you to all the volunteers 👏 - without you it wouldn't have been possible to put on such a great event. A final thank you to the sunshine ☀️ which definitely was the icing on the cake (and we had plenty of cake thanks to your donations).

We are absolutely delighted to say that we raised £1981.61 💷 but more importantly we saw a lot of families having fun 🙌.

We will keep you posted on how the money is used to support school in their work.

We are hoping some kind and keen bakers might be able to help us with some cake donations for our refreshments stand at the May Fair!

If you can donate some cakes, please bring them in to school on Friday before 3pm 😊

Cake sales are always popular with the kids, so being able to offer this at the May Fair will be fab 😋

GAMES AND FUN!

We are looking forward to offering games and an inflatable obstacle course at the May Fair!

Prices for the obstacle course are £2 a go or an unlimited access wristband for £5! These will be available to purchase from a signposted stall on the day.

At a separate stall, we will be selling tokens to use for the stall games. These can be purchased at 50p a token, or 5 tokens for £2. The games stalls will not be selling these at their stands, so please make sure to purchase your tokens before you head for the games! The games on offer include bottle tombola, chocolate tombola, welly throwing, hook a duck, tin can alley and cactus/bucket throw!

Don't forget to bring plenty of cash on the day! We will also have external stalls selling gifts and beauty products, as well as our refreshments, cakes and ice creams!

Please send tickets and exact cash in an envelope into book bags- draw will take place at the May Fair at 5pm!

Well done year 1! The cake sales have become more and more popular as the year has gone on. Thank you to everyone who donated cakes or money!

We are busy planning for the May fair and pulling out all the stops to bring you a great event!

Run in connection with the Church, the next TT@T will be 2nd May in the school hall from 9:15am. Great opportunity to meet other parents with small children!

The preloved uniform team will also be there!

If you have any preloved uniform you would like to donate or buy, this might be a good time to go along! Especially now that the 24/25 reception intake has been announced 😊

A few people have said how nice a BBQ would be, and we agree! But we need someone to take ownership of that stall. Don't worry, if we don't have a BBQ there will still be lots of cakes, drinks and ice creams 🙌🧁🍰🍦
