No I’ve not started teaching science… did a really fun shoot last week for at a 6th form college. Having dozens of willing actors really helped to bring the whole thing to life!

This car park may look benign, but it’s right next door to Birmingham International Airport . Given the tight turnaround times, we had to work hard to get the permissions signed off. Thanks to the watch manager at Birmingham ATC for being so flexible and accommodating 😊

Out flying in the lovely seaside village of Portpatrick, SW Scotland a few weeks ago. This region is known as the ‘Scottish Riviera’ due to the fact that the Gulf Stream warms the area all year round, giving rise to almost tropical trees and plants. Since we're in the depths of winter, I thought it would be useful to write a short article on the top five things to consider when planning a drone night shoot.

We had a big job late last year, assisting and on a 10-day technology trial in the middle of Portsmouth called CUE21.
We had 2 teams with drones in the air simultaneously, providing calibration and ‘target provision services’ to several different counter-UAS systems positioned around the city (don’t worry, we weren’t actually being shot at! 😅)
All of our drones were flown at some point, from the Freefly ALTA 6 to the DJI Mini 2, to assist Dstl in gathering data on how their prototype drone-tracking equipment performs in an urban environment.
A big thank you to and for their assistance in the planning of this multi-location set of flights in the city, some of which were in the middle of Freshers week!
