The new Emergency Alerts system will be tested nationally on Sunday 23rd April at 3pm.
The new system will warn people when their lives are in danger. What you’ll hear is a loud, siren-like sound with a message on your mobile phone screen.
You can opt out of the alerts if you need your phone to stay concealed. To do so, search for emergency alerts in your phone’s settings.
Although the UK Government recommends that people do not opt out of the service, as it is intended to warn you when lives are in danger.
