SPRING CHAKRA MEDITATIONS – PART 2
The following is the second of 7 chakra meditations that you might like to carry out in the run-up to Spring and during this season (although, actually, you can do them at any time of year you like!). You can do the meditation practices as either: A) a walking mindful meditation through Nature, silently noting the appropriate colours around you; or B) a seated meditation, imagining blossoms, objects or scenes reflecting the appropriate colour(s).
In either case, consciously imagine breathing the appropriate colour(s) into the respective chakra and the associated body areas, being mindful of the qualities associated with the chakra (see below). Then breathe out slowly whilst you release any unwanted energies and emotions from that area, restoring balance, harmony and vitality there and throughout your entire being.
When you are ready to finish the practice, take some deep breaths, and imagine grounding the energy into the Earth. Ensure you feel well-grounded and fully aware of your surroundings before returning to your everyday activities.
PART 2 – MEDITATION ON SWADHISTANA (THE SACRAL CHAKRA):
Colour: Bright orange. Location: Pelvic/sacral area. Body areas/functions: Stomach, digestion and absorption of nutrients, kidneys, bladder, adrenal glands, “fight-freeze-flight” response (survival), the “hara”, sacrum/sacral spine, pelvis, hips. Qualities/areas of focus: digestive energy (both physical – nutrition – and mental – knowledge), inner vitality, playfulness, socialising, feeling a part of the crowd, herding instinct, feeling happy in your own skin/“one’s own place”, gut instincts, sensuality, sexuality, dancing, moving to the joyful rhythm of life.
