Composed in 1969 by Ayo Bankole, the song is a “Prayer for Peace” as a response to the Nigerian Civil War known as the Biafra War.

A Celebration of African Art Composers
In February 2019, Nigerian-Romanian pianist Rebeca Omordia founded the first ever African Concert Series in London featuring programmes that reflect the depth and diversity of African Art Music, the richly diverse genre of music that originated in Ghana and Nigeria, which forms a bridge between Western classical music and traditional African music.
