Belfast Philharmonic Society was established in 1874 and is proud to include an adult choir of over 120 members and 6 choirs for children and young people.
Now it's time to meet 'The Phil Youth Choir'!
Aged 11-16, these talented young singers meet every Wednesday to work on musicianship and rehearse more complicated music and in 2025 they will join with the adult choir for the Society's annual 'Come and Sing' and also the world premiere of a new commission!

It's now time to meet 'The Phil Kids'!
Split across three different choirs, singers from P4-P7 meet for an hour to work on musicianship and attend choir rehearsals every Tuesday from 4.30pm (P4-P5) or from 5.45pm (P5-P7) in St. Bride's Hall, Derryvolgie Avenue.

Save the date! Our choirs are looking for new singers to join us in September. We are welcoming singers aged 5-10 to taster sessions with our Phil Kids Choirs on Tuesday 3rd September and singers aged 11-16 to an Open Rehearsal with our Youth Choir on Wednesday 4th September. We are delighted to introduce our youngest singers, The Phil Kids Minis!
Each week 'The Minis' attend musicianship classes, where they work on early note reading with our fantastic team of tutors, plus choir rehearsals which are made fun through games and learning new music. Children starting P2 or P3 in September can join and rehearsals take place every Tuesday from 4.30pm-5.20pm in St. Bride's Hall, Derryvolgie Avenue.

Profile: Gail Evans, Accompanist: NYCNI Training/Senior Choirs.
Gail is a much in demand accompanist and répétiteur throughout Northern Ireland and the UK. Now in her fifth year working with NYCNI Gail also works with the various choirs that make up the Belfast Philharmonic Society. Gail has played for conductors such a Daniele Rustionii; Jac van Steen and Christopher Bell.
She also accompanies the Ulster University Choir and works regularly with the Charles Wood Festival; National Youth Choir of Scotland and the Ulster Orchestra, to name but a few.
It is a great privilege for all of us here at NYCNI to work with Gail Evans. Not only is Gail a superbly talented professional she's a joy to work with !
