Meet our newest ARCTIC TRUCKS Arctic Trucks Polar Ford Super Duty F-350 AT44 6x6 (Freyr) as it heads to the harbour for shipment to Cape Town and onward to Antarctica… 🇮🇸➡️🇿🇦➡️🇦🇶

It will be joined by three other AT44 6x6s built by Arctic Trucks North America to make Transglobal Car Expedition’s full 6,400km crossing of Antarctica, traversing some of the coldest parts en route to the South Pole before returning another 2,000km for winter storage at Union Glacier. ❄️🧊💈

In Norse mythology, Freyr is the God associated with fertility, prosperity, and peace (and is also the name of our head engineer in Iceland who developed the vehicle, systems and more).

This vehicle features a 6.7-litre Ford diesel engine with additional lubrication for running on Jet A-1 aviation fuel to tolerate the extreme freezing temps and share fuel logistics with aircraft. Also equipped with three internal tanks, it has a total fuel capacity of 550-litres, and will pull an additional 4,500-litres on sledges.

While two of the four vehicles in the group are equipped with campers, Freyr and its brother Odin feature Arctic Trucks developed decks to carry all tools, spare parts, fuel, fluids, food etc. to support the month long expedition across the white desert.
