Well, that's a wrap for this year. Thank you to everyone who came & bought things from me over the last couple of days. I hope to get properly back into the craft fair circuit next year. Also hoping to get the website revamped, and maybe get some online selling on the go as well.
Now, I just have Twin 1 & Twin 2's birthday to celebrate then I can think about my own Christmas preparations.

I have a couple more craft fairs before the end of the year. The first is on 8th Dec in the Glassroom at Napier University, Merchiston campus (Colinton Rd) from 10am - 4pm. This winter market is being organised by the final year photography students to help raise funds for their exhibition. They will have some of their work for sale alongside other local crafters.

When I was cutting 12.4cm square pages for my lego books recently I was left with a variety of offcuts, which of course I can't throw out because 'they might be useful for something' (eg smaller books). Most of the pages were cut from A4 sheets & one set of these offcuts was almost exactly the size needed to make signatures for these wee longstitch floppy disk books. I had made one before & made a few covers but never got round to turning them into books. So, I decided to put these particular offcuts to good use & finish the books. The height of the offcuts is perfect but the width is slightly less than if I'd cut the pages from scratch, but they still work. And, as a bonus, I've used up some of the bits of cut paper I have lying around.

Very busy craft fair yesterday. Good to see that people still appreciate a nice notebook. Earrings & scrabble birthday cards were very popular too. Any money left after hall hire, & all profits from the pop-up cafe & went to the local foodbank so a good result all round. Another one in a few weeks, so better get making.

Batch of Lego books ready for a craft fair this Sunday 5th November (Fairmilehead Parish Church, Frogston Avenue, EH10).
Books have random paper pages sourced mainly from charity shops over the years. Unfortunately, since covid, there seems to be far less paper pads & such like in charity shops now. Just as well I've got a good stash.

It's a dreich day so lets make colourful earrings

I will be at this fair on Sunday 5th November with my unique hand-made cards; earrings made from recycled plastic bottles; and notebooks made from upcycled floppy disks, lego, game boards & old playing cards.
For some reason FB won't let me share the actual event so click on link for more info.
Fairmilehead Craft Fair - Sunday 5th Nov 2.00pm - 4.30pm Free Entry

So, I know I've been pretty quiet on here, but I am still here.
When covid put a stop to craft fairs lots of people sold online in virtual fairs. Since I worked in a hospital I was far too busy, even after physical fairs started up again. Now I have retired so have more crafting time & hope to get back into making to sell again. But, because I haven't done a craft fair for ages I want to ease back into it slowly to get used to it again. So, I have booked a table locally at Fairmilehead Church on Saturday 19th August 10am - 1pm. Not just craft stalls - table sale, tea & coffee, home baking, games in the garden. Suitable for all ages.

That's me officially signed up to
I have made a bit of jewellery in the past - mainly simple earrings from recycled plastic bottles, but I have a wealth of bits & pieces I have collected over the years with the intention of making them into jewellery but just didn't have the time. I also have some pieces that I started but never finished.
Anyone who knows me knows I am passionate about recycling & have saved many an object from the bin because "I could make something out of that". With this project I hope to improve my jewellery-making skills, and also show that nice jewellery doesn't have to be all precious metals & gemstones. So I will be making 100 pieces of 'junk jewellery'. Probably mainly from recycled plastic bottles but also a few other unexpected materials. So follow along on Instagram
to see what can be created from stuff we usually throw away.
