In the row of 6 beach huts there are also Firth of Forth Lobster Hatchery, Rosemary Oberlander Art, Andrina Wright Artist, Echo Beach Designs and . A great mix of locally produced products to browse.

I realised that I had teased a big secret but then got so busy organising said secret that I never shared what it was! 😆

I am thrilled to be joining three other local makers North Berwick Candle Company, Daynan Designs Handmade Jewellery and Blue door framing in a mini maker’s collective from beach hut no 5 at North Berwick Harbour North Berwick Harbour Trust.
Hopefully all our manic work behind the scenes will come together and the weather will play ball for our grand opening this Saturday. Can’t wait to welcome you to our coastal collective! 😊

This time last year we had plans to release new scents as well as developing exciting collaborations with other local businesses but I'm afraid a new job and homeschooling meant the year got off to a slow start for NB Candles. Our momentum peaked around Fringe by the Sea but those plans never did really fully come together. 🤦‍♀️
Thanks to you all for your continued support and we hope to bring you those new products and exciting projects next year.

Our wax melter is now turned off for the holidays - its time to relax and burn those candles we save for special times. Hope you all enjoy your Christmas breaks.

Already been to 2 events (a nature walk and Basement Jaxx) and town is buzzing!
We have created a souvenir candle to celebrate and allow you to take a piece of the festival home.

Wow..... just wow!!!

Should have been labelling candles today but instead spent it setting up an Easter egg hunt for my girls and a couple of friends followed by fish & chips on the beach watching the sunset.
How lucky are we to live here?

Our first dinner on the beach of the year. Not going to lie, it was perishing but fish & chips followed by toasted marshmallows was pretty special. Hopefully many more to follow this year especially as the nights get lighter (& warmer!!!)

Should be making candles and packing orders this weekend but I'm afraid the snow was calling.... I managed to get some amazing ski touring in the Garleton Hills yesterday.

This weekend has been about testing new scents. Just having a play around to find something new to add to our range.

We try to capture the essence of North Berwick in our candles - something to evoke memories or emotions relating to our lovely wee town.

We would appreciate some inspration from you - what's your favourite thing to do while in North Berwick? Or those that live away, what's your best memory from being here?

These photos were from yesterday when we were lucky enough to spend time on North Berwick beach - breathing in the fresh 2021 air.
Didn't quite make the traditional dook as we all had wetsuits on and were mainly on the water rather than in it 🤣🤣.

In looking for positives on last year, we were able to spend more time as a family and learnt that living a quieter life was actually a good thing (who knew...!).
We do have (personal & business) aims & hopes for this new year but lets just muddle through together and see where it takes us.

We wish all our friends, customers & supporters a very prosperous 2021. Here's hoping its a good one 🎉🕯❤

We are all out of Home for Christmas tealight boxes for website orders - although i do know that both the and have some as we restocked them this weekend!!!

Not long now till Christmas is upon us. Christmas candles still available in tins & tealights (only a couple of glass jars left).
Choose from -
Home for Christmas which is a traditional Christmas scent of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves & orange.
Or Winter Wonderland which is a fresher scent of lime, galbanum, basil, amber & patchouli.

I can do a local delivery if you're lucky enough to live around NB and currently using Hermes for delivery to further a field. Hermes are doing a great job meeting expected time lines - and are saying that parcels need to be with them by noon on 21st Dec to make it for Christmas.

I need your help please.

We're having a review of our tealight packaging and I'd like your opinion.

I've never really liked the box that we currently use - it's officially a 'bangle box' and doesn't exactly fit the 8 tealights, hence the wood shavings. If we don't use the shavings as a space filler the candles move about inside the box. I do like the lid style though.

The alternative I've just sourced fits 9 tealights exactly - all on one row, so no need for the extra space filler. Its just a box with tuck in sides and not a lid style though.

Do any of you have any opinion that may sway buying one rather than the other? Both would be the same price. Both are fully recyclable and contain no plastic!

I've had a long break from social media - its been so long its now a bit daunting posting again!!!

Despite things appearing to have been quiet, we've actually been pretty busy here at .
There has been stock made for that 'C' event coming up and the planning of some new products.

There's no doubt that it has been a bit of a juggle trying to find time between my other jobs & the kids lives which have all been busying up again. The process of preparing the containers, mixing the wax & scent, pouring the candles and labelling the containers is all done by hand here in North Berwick and it does take time to do but hopefully you'll agree that the final hand poured product is worth it.

This week I will be dropping off Christmas stock to out stockists- check them out;

The parcel in the photo went out last week. Christmas is coming early to a lucky house.
Our packaging is corrugated card around the candle for protection - this is recycled and recyclable. The wood shavings are used as a space filler and are compostable. The packing boxes are recyclable. We try really hard to source packaging that has no plastic and is recyclable - even in this day & age, this is still unbelievably difficult to do.

Better get back to work as the tealights won't box themselves up!!

Great news....... our friends at are reopening. So glad things are gradually returning to some form of normal.

We are delighted to announce we are RE-OPENING!

From MONDAY 29TH JUNE the shop will be open, initially with reduced hours - see below.

From THURSDAY 2ND JULY the cafe will be open for takeaways only - we will have Edinburgh Tea and Coffee Company hot drinks, freshly baked scones and a selection of other sweet treats 🧁

The health and safety of our staff and customers is paramount so we have taken a number of safety measures...
There will be NB Distillery hand gel readily available, we have installed a perspex screen at the counter and the Westgate team will be wearing appropriate face coverings.

We respectfully ask that if you are feeling unwell you do not visit.

We have missed all our customers and look forward to welcoming you back.

That's now 12 weekends in a row we have spent at least one night camping out in our driveway in our wee van.
Last week i was down to my light sleeping bag, today I'm back to my big thick cosy winter one.... where did summer go???
We've really enjoyed our van nights- its about as adventurous as lockdown life gets!!!!

Covid 19 camping excursion...... saturday night sleepover in our campervan in our driveway!!!! Staying safe and having fun.
Can you share your best ways to have genuine fun with the kids in these crazy days....... my kids have been amazing - so resilient and just taking things (mostly) in their stride.
Candle making has taken a bit of a back seat while my physio & mum roles are busier. But we're still open for business if you think a candle can contribute to your happy (isolation) place.....

I made these as a wedding gift for my lovely friend who got married recently.

transferred their stationary design onto labels for me and i gifted them 4 tins - one each of my scents.

I was really pleased with the result (as was my friend) and gives them a really personalised gift that i can refill again and again for them.

I can do this for you - if you’re a guest at a wedding and want to give a really personal gift all I need is a jpg (or similar) file to make it happen. Get in touch and I can show you options.

So how excited was I to win competition just before Christmas (lots & lots is the answer!!!) I won a £250 voucher to spend on glasses. 😍👓👓👓😍
Now - new glasses for me is more exciting than new shoes & handbags so that's saying something!!!! 👓💋👠👜👓 I was totally spoilt for choice and spent sometime (probably too long!!) trying on lots yesterday. These were some of my favourites.
I already have an amazing pair of eco frames that have a magnetic sun glass lens to attach - apparently the eco frames are made from recycled plastic!! I love these ones for everyday and am using this prize to get myself a 'party pair' 🎉🎉 They even let me take some frames home to try again & again!!!! Oohhh...... its tough trying to cut them down to 1 style.
