I know I’m a few days late but it’s never too late to understand the symptoms of breast cancer 🩷

As most of you may know, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer almost 11 years ago and I, myself, had a breast cancer scare back in April which was thankfully benign.

I was getting in the shower and thought I saw a spot on my side! So as I pulled my breast out of the way to investigate my hand slipped and I felt a lump. I can’t tell you what a scary time it was for me as I have an incredibly extensive family history of it and I’m very very high risk.

Fortunately, I had a mammogram and ultrasound to confirm all was ok. BUT…I was so scared - not if I had cancer because to be honest, for many years I’ve dealt with the fact that I will probably get it but because of the mammogram!!! IT DID NOT HURT!! So please don’t let that put u off.

Early detection is key to beating it!! It doesn’t just affect people over the age of 50, it affects lots of women AND men under that so knowing how to check is so important!

Don’t be embarrassed (I’m sure u’ve all done much worse on a night out!) just check those bo***es!!! And if in doubt, please please get it checked out 🩷

Love to all you warriors that have battled it personally or dealt with family and friends who have. It’s tough but as long as we have people to talk to, you can get through it.

Tomorrow could be a huge day for the Aesthetics Industry. Regulations have been promised for many years. We will be publishing update and opinions as the regulations become clearer.

PLEASE READ 'BOTOX' POISONING. Botulinum Toxin (BT). In the UK, BT by Law is PRESCRIPTION ONLY. We all know this is true. Responsible practioners would only treat clients with BT supplied from a UK pharmacy. It is no secret that this isn't the case and many individuals administer 'bought botulinum' off prescription and unlicensed into unwitting clients. The client has no idea they are being injected with an illegal product. Illegal BT can be bought for as little as £20. As BT is prescription only and covered by the medicines act it could be claimed anyone using illegally obtained product is drug dealing and could be subject to criminal prosecution. Its shocking to recognise the unscrupulous nature of this practice. Apart from the obvious risk of giving a client Botulinum Toxin Poisoning, which can be fatal, the long term implications of unknown neurotoxins injected into the body are unknown. Cases of Botulinum Poisoning have been reported via the JCCP . It can kill you. Cheap Botox is cheap for a reason. If you don't care what your injecting into another human being perhaps its time to pause and re-evaluate what you are doing. Legal toxin obtained by prescription is expensive, prescription charges are expensive, medical malpractice insurance is expensive and all for good reason. If you injected with illegal BT you are not covered by ANY insurance. New legislation is coming soon, Practitioners will have to be licensed. Lets hope this will bring to an end the Wild West of Aesthetic Practice and Law Enforcement will come down on those who continue for 'sell' prescription only medication.
