Kimberley Primary & Nursery School
Welcome to our school page - we have a lot of fun at Kimberley Primary & Nursery School.
Is your child turning 3 soon?
Did you know that Kimberley Primary School has its own nursery for children aged 3-5 within the main school building?
Would you like to have your child receiving term-time provision from qualified teachers?
We currently have a few spaces left in our nursery setting for the Summer Term and are now taking applications for next September.
Every child is entitled to 15 hours of childcare per week, from the start of the term after their 3rd birthday. This is known as universal funding.
In addition to this, many working families are now entitled to 30 hours of free childcare per week. To find out more information or to check your eligibility, please visit https://childcarechoices.gov.uk
We can offer flexible arrangements if required.

If your child starts Year 6 this September, then it is time to think about applying for secondary schools. Please remember you must apply to the local authority that you live in even if the school you want is not in that authority. Below is the link to apply for Nottinghamshire residents.
🎒 Is your child due to start secondary school in September 2024?
If your child lives in Nottinghamshire, you can now apply for your four preferred schools.
You have plenty of time between now and the application deadline to consider which schools to apply for and read their admission criteria as this will help you understand how places will be allocated.
Make sure you have done your research before selecting your school preferences and list at least one preference school where your child will have high priority within the admission criteria.
Applying online is quick and easy ⬇️

There was a winning entry from each class (chosen by the PTA) and you can see those in the pictures below. A huge thank you to Sainsburys in Kimberley for donating the Easter Eggs for our winners.
Wow! What an amazing morning we’ve had at KPS as rockstars! Years 2-6 have spent our TTR morning competing against their class mates and teachers in our Battle Arena. Well done to all those involved! It’s been brilliant!

Nursery had a great time yesterday on Muddy Monday hunting for bugs and digging for worms. I wonder what they will find next week?
We've had a great time at KPS celebrating Science Week. Each class has made 'connections' with a key text linked to a scientific concept. We've had scientists visit school, new books and dressed up as scientists prompting many interesting conversations about jobs involving science.
Another successful competition this week for KPS. Yesterday some of our Year 5 &6 girls took part in a football competition and came 2nd. Well done! Thank you to Mrs Bingham, Mrs Garner & Mr Beresford for all the work supporting them.
Our wonderful dancers have come 2nd out of 22 schools at the regional heats of the Great Big Dance Off. This means they get to travel to Oxford in June to compete in the finals. How exciting! Well done to Mrs Watson for her fantastic choreography too.

That's a wrap folks. This is Mrs -T-R passing the reigns to Mrs Harlin. Enjoy our 'Through the Decades' montage by our wonderful KPS pupils. It has been my biggest achievement so far that all our children know the words to Bucks Fizz, Making your mind up - my own special Year 6 song! 😆
