Been told to practice breathing for labour? There are certain techniques that are more appropriate than others and can assist you during labour. There are also some breathing techniques that should be avoided during pregnancy. I’ll be sharing some reels of some appropriate breathing exercises for pregnancy and labour - stay tuned!! 🤰

Pelvic girdle pain & lower back pain can feel really debilitating when you’re pregnant and already feel/been told you have to make so many changes to your current fitness routine. Bodhi Fit are here to guide you and give you confidence that you can continue to move throughout your pregnancy with the necessary modifications.
As someone who suffered with SPD (symphysis p***s dysfunction) from early in my 2nd trimester I can draw from personal experience to support you 😌

Bump Lifts or Baby Hugs as I like to call them 😊 This is a fantastic exercise to work the deep tummy muscles, pelvic floor and support the back.
Start in an all fours position - forearms can rest on a sofa if wrists are sensitive.
Inhale and relax your belly and pelvic floor completely.
Exhale and begin to engage pelvic floor, starting from the back passage and draw belly button to spine or imagine you’re hugging baby towards you.
Remember to relax completely which each inhalation 😌

I was already qualified to personal train pre & postnatal women but it wasn’t until going through pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum myself that I realised women in general are lacking so much information that we should have more awareness about. We’re also lacking support mentally and physically once we’ve given birth. We’re lacking the knowledge of what symptoms we should be aware of so we understand what is normal and abnormal post-pregnancy and birth… And while a lot of symptoms are normal, we’re also not made aware of the fact that they don’t have to be long term and/or can be improved. I’ve become very passionate since giving birth that I want to help women feel more confident while pregnant, less afraid going into labour and more supported postpartum.
Rant over.
But if you’re currently pregnant or have given birth recently or even years ago and need some guidance then hit me up 🤙
