Our Tour Manager, Terry, is currently away with a group in Taormina, Sicily. Some have been up Mount Etna, some to the ancient city, Syracuse,( famous for its ruins) some to Piazza Armerina (Situated deep in the Sicilian hinterland, at 721 metres above sea level, stands Piazza Armerina, one of Sicily’s most frequented tourist spots, famous for Villa Romana del Casale). This evening, some have gone to the Opera in Taormina. Sounds like they are all having a great time.

For anyone thinking of going to Japan, we will be putting together our own tour for 2025..
Details will be available early July.

Booked on another organised excursion today so I could see more of what the island has to offer. We first visited the picturesque Palaiokastrista Bay, where we had the option of exploring its legendary caves by boat. I decided to just explore the local village including the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, founded in 1228AD, and the Balcony of the Gods .
The coach then winded up the mountain, with numerous hairpin bends to the village of Bella Vista. This is a famous landmark as rated one of the best views in Europe.
We stopped at one of the many roadside restaurants to taste some local cheese, ham, bread, olives and wine.
We made a few more stops for photos before returning to Corfu town.

Today I decided to take an organised excursion to see more of what Albania has to offer. As the season hasn't really started yet, I've been a bit restricted on choice. Anyway I settled for a fairly short day ( just over 5 hours)

LEKASURI Castle...not so much the castle I was expecting but a restaurant with the most amazing views.

The BLUE EYE (Syri i Kaltër in Albanian) is a water spring and initial water source of the Bistricë, a 25 km long river which ends in the Ionian Seat just south of Saranda. The source is a natural phenomenon with a depth of at least 50 meters, the deepest any diver has been able to go, so the actual depth is even unknown.

BUTRINT National Park...These ruins are 2,500 years old and some of them are the best-preserved Roman ruins across all of Europe. The Temple of Asclepius is one of the highlights of the ruins.

The wildlife of the park includes 39 species of mammals, 246 species of birds, and an abundance of coastal species as well.

Final and late lunch stop at Ksamil.
