Helping business owners with a conscience gain clarity and confidence to market to their ideal custo
I want to help you to create your best design work ever, and your brand to shine through on these busy platforms. And we can use design principles to help with this.
Today I’m talking alignment.
Good alignment means that every element in your design is considered and balanced with the other elements.
When your alignment has been considered it helps to create structure, and nothing feels out of place.
You can keep your work aligned by using guidelines. These lines won’t be visible on the final files but can help you order your layout while you are designing your content.
We can of course break rules, but that’s for another day!
Last Friday I did something new... I launched the Freelance Mum Bath hub alongside Jody Sparey.
Freelance Mum has been part of my business for 8 years so when the opportunity to launch a hub in Bath came my way I just had to say yes.
We had a fantastic morning, our next session is on the 16th June. If you would like to join us, you can book via this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/freelance-mum-netwalk-bath-business-networking-tickets-597886854677?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
Finally, my website has launched!
I am proud to say my website has launched, it went live just before Easter and while I’ve still been tweaking I’ve not really shouted about it…
Silly really.
There is always a notion that you can’t launch until you are ‘ready’. But well, websites are an ever-changing thing.
It’s in the interests of my site to be constantly checking, building and evolving!
So here it is.
I want it to become a place you can come to understand to what branding means for you.
I have a journal which has some articles about different facets of building a brand, and in time there will be workbooks so you can really get to grips with what branding means and means for YOUR business*
I’d love to hear what you think.

It’s been a really long time since I did a simple hello post…
…so hello! 👋
As you can see there have been a few changes to my branding and while it is sad to say goodbye to the name Paper Aeroplane Creative I am SUPER excited to no longer be hiding and simply be ME.
I will be sharing lots about how it feels to take change your brand name in the coming weeks and months.
It has been such a useful exercise to walk the path that so many of my clients do and rebrand from the ground up.
So why the name Lucie Gray Creative?
I believe that creativity needs to be nurtured, I believe that being creative gives us the courage to push boundaries, I also think allowing our brains to wander helps unlock the good stuff.
🙋 Hands up if anyone else can think better while they are doodling?
I will also be sharing more of my personal relationship with creativity as I feel that it is so important in stressful lives to give our brains space to be creative.
As you can see from my curiously creative Insta account: https://www.instagram.com/luciegray_creativecuriosity/ I get my creativity fix on my time, not your time. So I can guarantee the designs I create are for you, are just for you.
Viva la creativity!
Really excited to be heading up this new hub with Jody. Our first netwalk will be on the 12th May!
Happy Monday! Gosh, it's exciting times here at FM HQ, we're over the moon to be announcing our brand new hub in .
You can join Lucie & Jody on Friday 12th May, as they head off from Newton Farm Shop, for a netwalk in the beautiful setting of Newton St Loe.
Lucie will be a familiar face to many of you, as she's a founding FM member and fab friendly face in the fold. It's been a joy to connect her and (new recruit) Jody, via our friends at YTKO. Lucie works as a graphic designer and Jody as product compliance. Both of them have an incredible eye for detail, are on a sustainability mission and fab sense of humour.
It's great to have two new Freelance Mum Fairies, heading up the Bath netwalk! The continuous growth of the FM community and network, is a testament to the strength of the FM Members.
As with all Freelance Mum events, you can come and try it for FREE for 30 days, after that it's just £25 a month.
