Hi I’m Claudia- I started off making practical items such as bags, aprons and fiddle cushions (for people with dementia), and have gradually moved into textile art: seascapes and countryside views inspired by my Maltese roots.

Slight departure from my usual style - working on some ‘nowhere in particular’ seascapes using lots of different fabrics and textures.

Christmas is coming
The angel Gabriel banner is being hung in the church today. Made from recycled fabric - off cuts from the curtain factory (bugle), leftover scraps from a friend’s wedding dress (angel dress and wings) and an old duvet cover (background).

This was my final piece for the free-motion embroidery course delivered by .The two trees in the foreground were made separately using scraps of material sewn onto dissolvable fabric, which when soaked in water results is stand-alone trees. They were then appliquéd to the background.
