Meet Brent, the Punch and Judy man, setting up on Viking Bay at 7am this morning. He's doing 3 shows a day in the centre of the beach until 1st September.

Head back in time to a classic beach tradition on Viking Bay sands this summer, when he rings the bell his show is about to begin.

Shows are 12:30pm, 2:30pm and 4pm!

This is the news you have been waiting for, the dates for Summer Fireworks in Broadstairs!
They are Wednesdays, 20th July, August 17th, & August 24th. Plus there will also be a Firework Finale to Water Gala on Wednesday 27th July. Fireworks are scheduled for 9.45 pm with children's activities at Victoria Gardens from 6 pm and live music on the bandstand from 8 pm featuring:
Neon Rush July 20th - Hyperactive July 27th - The Dial August 17th - Ozzie and the Uglies August 24th.

Many of you will know the Royston name is a tribute to my late father Roy. It would be his birthday on the 9th September so we have decided that will be our grand opening day.

Our Festival Arena Stage is up for Opening Night tomorrow, Friday 6th August. We are so happy that we are able to go ahead this year! Remember your chairs, blankets and brollies as it is an open air venue, see you all soon!

As I've said before wartime photos are hard to find so this view from 29th August 1941 must rate as fairly unusual.
This is the funeral procession for the five members of Broadstairs Fire Brigade who were killed when bombs were dropped on the town on the 16th. The cortege is on it's way to St Peter's church where all were interred with full honours.
