England's water companies breached permits nearly 700 times in 2023, polluting our rivers and coastlines.
That's why the Liberal Democrats are calling for a ban on executive bonuses for any company found to breach permits. It's time to put the environment before profit.

After years of inaction and failure under the last Conservative government, it is welcome to see the regulator finally impose proper fines.
This should only be the start if these polluting firms are to clean up their act. We now need a ban on bonuses and an end to bumper profits on the industry.
