Shocking stats about phones being stolen from people in per day!
Stay alert and try not to be a phone zombie (looking at your phone whilst walking!), talk or text on it when you should be paying attention, or put it anywhere super easy to steal from, like a back jeans or side coat pocket!
If the worst happens, make sure you know your network’s customer service number and get in touch with them straight away to block the phone. It’s also a good idea to have at least one friend or relative’s number memorised so at least you can call someone from a pay phone!
Apple and Google have cool nerdy things you can do to track, lock, and remotely erase your phone as well as giving you access to your backups and other cloud services.
Make sure that you know what to do if your phone goes walkies!

Save the date and time for Sunday 23rd April at 3pm! BBC News reports that pretty much every phone in the UK will sound a test emergency siren and vibrate for around 10 seconds. So be ready! It is part of a plan to introduce extreme situation alerts.
Since the siren will sound even if your phone is on ‘silent,’ there are also instructions in the article of how to silence your phone if you absolutely need to e.g. for those currently in situations who have a concealed phone for the purposes of their planned escape.
Spread the word - and be aware of it if you will be driving at the time!

Now, how many problems can we spot with this email that I received today? I have copied and pasted the text, but 'Mrs. Angela' may as well have put the SCAM background in herself!
You would have hoped that a 'Publicity Secretary' would have a fine command of the English language with suitable spelling and grammar skills. A proper email address would also have helped her case.
Email the weird email address I shall not. Forward it to [email protected] I shall! Please do the same with dodgy emails and get them out of circulation!

Oh dear, another energy bills support scam text - don't fall for it! Please forward any dodgy texts like this to 7726 which is your own phone network and it is free to do so. They will look into and hopefully shut it down! You can also report to Action Fraud

You know there is something fishy about this “Energy Bills Support” text when it is received by a child! We grown-ups need to be even more careful as these can look convincing! Forward suspicious messages to 7726 and your mobile phone network provider will try and find the source. Also be sure to report anything like this to Action Fraud.

Do not let calls, texts, or emails panic you with stories of a dire situation that you have to act NOW on! You may happen to have an account with the entity that the person contacting you happens to claim they were from, but it is merely a shotgun numbers game. SOMEONE will have an account with that company, and SOMEONE WILL fall for it.
If you get such contact, and you do happen to have an account with the company they name, leave that call/email/text and independently log in to your account, or call them on a number you KNOW to be legit - NOT a number or link provided by them. If there really is a problem with your account, it will be evident when you have access to your details.
If you or someone who know receives an unexpected call by someone claiming to be from your bank or a police officer, verify who you are speaking to.
Hang up, wait five minutes and call back on a number you know is genuine
