How did every single one of my year 12 students score between A-C grades in their AS-Levels? 🌟 Simple, we ditched the usual read, note, repeat routine and embraced self-testing right from the very start. How do we normally revise these verses? We revise all of Juz 1.. then all of Juz 2... etc etc By the time we come back to Juz 1, we've already forgotten which mutashabiha goes where. That's why it's important to revise the mutashabihaat as they appear. It only takes a a minute, but it'll save you hours in the long run! When you come across an ayah which has a distinct similarity somewhere else, invest some time and revise the distinctly similar verses right now. Find patterns and tips to help you remember which verse goes where. Studying for my GCSE's and A-levels whilst trying to memorise the Qur'an was a very difficult period in my life.😅 My academic studies demanded a lot of time, And so did the Qur'an.📖 At the end of the day, excelling in both this world and the hereafter are important. We still need jobs and careers to provide and work for our families. As teachers👨‍🏫, it's very important to get our students to purposefully think about similar verses as they are reciting to us. Actively highlighting📜 these differences will help embed them into their long-term memory 🧠, and allow them to recite with confidence.
