African beats!
We had a fantastic time with the Messenger Choir from Uganda yesterday. They led a fun workshop with lots of singing, dancing and drumming to enthusiastic children and parents from many surrounding schools, and delighted us with beautiful part-singing and dancing in the evening concert, again with much audience interaction. They did get us all to our feet! Such a joyful event! Don't miss today's concert with Mendelssohn's octet!

There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes of the Spirit of Music Festival 's Youth Extravaganza concert. It's all going to become obvious tomorrow, Sunday 25 Feb at 3pm in St Mary's Church. We've rehearsed a repertoire of folk, classical and pop with our large ensemble of about 60 young people aged between 5 and 18, and the established chamber groups and bands have been exploring the performance space over the last days. Join us for an hour of fun, beautiful, and invigorating music from Mozart to Coldplay! Free entry, donations welcome.

It was a capacity audience at the Spirit of Music Festival Family Concert this afternoon - standing-room only.
We had excellent renditions of Bach, the children played Bartok's Romanian Dances with great skill and vigour, and we were treated to amazing new compositions by our own members, Lucy Flint and Dorry Macaulay...including a memorable visitation by an angel...on double bass!
If you would like to know about future events, please email [email protected] and we will add you to our mailing list.
