A hard fought cup game yesterday for phoenix flames 🔥 u11s yesterday.
Some really good moments of team play and battled until the end despite having no subs available or their main goalkeeper.
Excellent togetherness boys and onto the new year!
Have a great Christmas everyone from all the boys at Pheonix flames u11s.

“The decision to cancel a Game”
It’s easy to criticise the decision to cancel a game, but before you do just take a second to think what has gone into making that decision first.
1) Is it safe for everyone and is the forecast safe?
2) Is it currently playable and what is the forecast?
3) Is there a weather warning in place now or whilst the games are on?
4) Will the pitch drain water or thaw frost in time?
5) What’s the temperature forecast now, overnight and during the game?
6) What time is KO and how far are the opposition travelling from?
7) If it’s a central venue, thousands of people will be affected, is an earlier decision better?
Sometimes the decision to cancel is made at the last minute if a belief that the game can be playable will be made, other times an early decision will be made. All decisions are made with the available information at the time and the available upto date weather forecasts. Often the decision is right, sometimes the decision can “in hindsight” be wrong due to many factors such as drainage, temperature, wind etc but always the decision is made in good faith.
Many times we’ve personally made this decision and know it’s not an exact science at times, so a little shoutout of support from teamgrassroots to those with the decision on their shoulders and who will quite often be up late and up early doing last minute checks and obsessively checking weather forecasts. We appreciate it 🙌🏻🙌🏽🙌🏿
Back open next week in honour of a well loved member of the Phoenix family.
Come down and show your support
Tough day at the office for the Pheonix Flames u11s today against a strong, top of the table, Ilkeston opponent.
A better start in the second half but ultimately the opposition was just too strong.
Some good encouragement from each other when play went well so it’s back to the training ground, heads up and onto the next match. 👍👊
Thanks also to our sponsor .

A star performance from Star Fire.
Phoenix star had a nice warm welcome to winter on a very cold morning against Newark.
The star fire girls played some good football in the first half but came into the game 10 minutes towards the end with some great attacking football leading to 2 great goals.
The girls came back on second half and within 5 minutes were 3 up with a hatrick from star.
This followed by well worked goal from Michelle.
Well done girls
And again thank you to our Sponsors engineering & Cloud 57 V**e Store
Great performance from the u12 inferno this morning after a run of defeats and the lads feeling a little negative they turned on a performance they have been capable of all season.
Absolute class from everyone one of the lads.
Thanks as always to our sponsors and Julie Wesson Independent Funeral Directors Limited
A determjned performance from the Phoenix Rockets Under 9 team today and the team never gave up and managed to nick a deserved victory with the last kick of the game - a super free kick from Barkley. As usual the team gave their all and are looking forward to their next match - a good team performance with Issac getting the first and MOM to Harry for a determined defensive performance - many thanks to our sponsor Urban Vanity Aesthetics for all your support.

Anothet great performance from the Phoenix Rockets Under 9 team today and a thoroughly well deserved victory. The team created plenty of chances alongside some super tackling and defending from all the players - man of the match went to our Central Defensive Midfielder Rudy and a great goal from Aiden to get the 3 points. - many thanks to our sponsor Urban Vanity Aesthetics for all your support.
This week's match against Burton Joyce was one of our toughest yet. They were well organised and had some very handy players. The Knights stepped up to the task, though, and worked really hard to earn a draw. Even more impressive was the fact they did this with only 5 players this week, so the boys had to play the full 40 minutes without any breaks. The goals were shared this week between three of our more experienced players, and some of the link-up play between them was fantastic to watch for the coaches and fans.

Great performance from Phoenix knights under 7s in their new league, we went ahead 1-0 thanks to a great assist from Cejay and a great finish from Jayden!! We played some brilliant football and each week are improving massively as a team!! A special well done to our man of the match Thomas who also scored a great goal.. unfortunately it wasn’t our day and we lost 3-2, these are a great bunch of lads and I think on another day we would have won!! Shout out to Jewson our sponsors for supporting the team
Unlucky result this morning for Phoenix sparkles who played a strong priory celtic team sadly the girls didn't get the win but now move on to the next game with there heads held high.

A good win yesterday for Inham Phoenix Devils on a frozen muddy pitch. After taking an early lead Toton Tornados brought the game back by half time. Devils took the lead once more in the third quarter before Total equalised again setting up a tense final 10 minutes. Devils came out of the blocks fast again giving themselves a nice buffer which they managed to hold on to getting a nice victory against a tough opponent with all players trying their best to achieve this.Thank you to our sponsor Andrew McCulloch Jewellers
A cold and miserable start today reflected our mood and giving us our first loss
The boys dug in and kept going throughout the game despite the weather. Passion was shown and this reflected in their faces after the game.
We were caught off by the ball behind our defence, however Bradders kept his cool and pulled off some good saves keeping us in the game.
The midfield and attackers pressed and pressed but the opposition goalkeeper kept the shots at bay.
Thank you to Luke for reffing, thank you for all the support and respecting the minutes silence for remembrance and as always thank you to our sponsor Tanglewood Care Homes

Phoenix Fireflies U12 made their way to a very muddy Riddings pitch today to play the awesome Heanor Diamonds. A very organised side who have dominated the league - the girls conceded an unfortunate own goal in the 22 minute. But kept battling and working as a team. The result did not go our way but the work rate and team spirit was the winner today for us. Keep it up girls. Many thanks to our sponsors Eagle Logistics Nottm Limited - see you at the next home game - our sponsors and our lucky charm ! 💛🖤💛🖤.
Great show of football this morning between to ladies sides Phoenix star fire u12s and Keyworth both sides battled throughout the game on a cold wet morning keeping the game to a tie at the end.

Thank you for everything you all do it's much appreciated
What a day out for the mighty Apollos….. a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine!
The boys all stuck to their positions and this showed in the team play that was displayed…
A mighty back line and a vocal keeper kept the opposition at bay, using the mighty midfield and leading onto the striker..
We were challenged many times but kept our cool and used the field and pace to put the pressure on their defenders.
4 goals in the bag for captain Hector which earned him the “Joshua Ward” award (POTW) And I had 11 worthy lads to pick from for my MOTM. All of them deserved it but my vote went to Bradders! 👏 🏆 ⚽️
Well done all, you have come such along way in a short space of time and I am so proud of you all 🙌
