We loved our sessions with 21 Together
And what a photo!
Hope to dance with you again soon! 💃🏼
🕺Enjoy an action shot from our well-being session in Canterbury. Thank you to for providing the fun dance moves!
🔋Young people and parents had time to unwind and release their pent-up energy!
🔴These sessions are possible due to funding from , so again we thank them for everything they do!
On a wet, dreary morning, it was time to brigthen up Hale Place, and we certainly did just that!
We had lots of feel-good songs which gave everyone an energy boost. We even ventured to Hawaii, optimistic that the sun would soon shine, and all the participants gave 100% energy today. It was electric! In the end, I left lots of very happy, smiley people behind. It's the best bit of the job uplifting people spirits and seeing them all enjoy themselves.

Merry Christmas from The TRS Teachers!
Thank you all for a magical year, one of our most epic years ever. We have had a wonderful time and hope you enjoyed taking part and hearing about it all.
We hope you have a happy and merry festive season.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
🎅🏼🎄🎁
TRS North Kent had their Christmas meal on Friday, and we announced the TRS teacher of the year! Congratulations to all nominees, fully deserved and so proud that they all work for SK too. Well done to Erica for winning! 👏👏🍾
We love this time of year! Especially as we get to announce our TRS teacher of the year nominees!
Well done to all, thoroughly deserved to all of you!
Huge congratulations to Hale place! What an achievement and fully deserved! The TRS teachers love coming along to see you all each week. Well done!
Congratulations Kay!
Kay went above and beyond to be able to help out and take over a class for this term which we really appreciate and not only this, I received some great feedback too! Her sessions at The Beacon School are also going great, all in all it’s been a great term for Kay!
Thank you!
Congratulations Chloe!
Chloe has only worked with TRS South Kent for a few weeks and today she has gone above and beyond. Not only has she helped with last minute cover but she was able to step out if her comfort zone and did a fantastic job. Thank you Chloe and well done!
Happy weekend!
Georgie and Kirsty ended their week with a Halloween active armchair session. Safe to say that both them, staff and participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves! There were many giggles and laughs and LOTS of singing. Some of Kirstys favourite quotes from the session were:
Participant 1: ‘what are you suppose to be a pumpkin…’
Participant 2: long pause, stares directly at participant 1 ‘eh yeah obviously’
‘You’ll have no legs if you keep running around like that’
‘You know who a devil is. John over there’
Another one of our spooooky sessions!
With my witches hat on, I kicked off my Halloween theme this morning with the participants of Hale Place. We had a frightfully fun warm up before doing a good old hand jive to Monster Mash. Both carers and residents were up on their feet as we used our scarves to make our ghosts take flight. Next we had fun batting the balloons to each other and we laughed as some participants even showed off their football skills by kicking it with their feet. Halloween wouldn't be complete without a visit to the pumpkin patch and we found some glittery ones before taking aim to land them in the trick or treat pot! Unfortunately there were no chocolate rewards but everyone certainly had a spooktastic time -Erica

Congratulations Alice and Erica!
Alice went along to an event the other week and not only did she leave me a lovely long voice note about how much of an amazing time she had, we received some wonderful feedback from her session! They are really excited to book some more sessions in with her! Well done Alice!
I have just received a wonderful voice note from Erica that she wanted to share as a Magic Moment from Hale Place. They have been nominated for Care Home of the Year Award (which we both agree is fully deserved!) and they wanted to take a picture of them doing their Active Armchair session with Erica as it’s their favourite activity! Well done Erica!
TRS South Kent are excited to announce we have just received our Kent and Medway Workplace Wellbeing Award! We are so excited to be able to be a part of this and cannot wait to continue onto our Silver Award with them!
We are incredibly sad to hear the news this evening. The Queen was a remarkable women. Over the years she has been inspirational to many of us in life and in choreography. Most recently there were many dances inspired by her 70 years on the throne. She both supported and enjoyed the arts. Tonight our thoughts are with her family.
Rest in Peace
Just back from a fabulous Active Armchair session at Hale Place! The residents were all ready and waiting for me to arrive so after my initial greetings we were raring to go!
We had a rock n roll theme today and we used feathers to aid our arm warmup. The residents loved the softness of them on their faces and the bright colours. The group reminisced about their old dancing days with Let's Twist Again and the energy of the whole group was really lifted. There was lots of fancy footwork on display today as abit of Elvis got everyone's feet tapping.
Several residents who hadn't previously participated got involved with our impromptu game of football with the beach ball and then continued to join in our dance with pom poms. We had many a giggle at placing them on our heads like a wig - apparantely silver pom pom hair suited me more than purple !
A new resident of the care home throughly immersed herself into the session today and even rose to her feet at the end to dance. One carer even mentioned how she had been previously quite dismissive about participating in activities but throughly enjoyed herself in today's session. This was such a magic moment!
Erica 💜
Magic moment!
All of us TRS Teachers love going to Hale Place, but South Kent Director, Georgie, went a long this week for the first time in a while to cover the class and, as the Activities Coordinator walked her out she said ''Thank you so much for coming, it really does brighten their day. Do you know, **** hasn't joined in or done anything for days, and we've just had her dancing in there! it really makes a difference!''
Honestly, it's always a pleasure teaching Active Armchairs, but moments like that really do make you proud of what you are doing.
We had a fantastic day bringing dance to the community of Kennington! Thank you so much for having us!
Spot award!!
Congratulations Georgina!
Georgie went along to observe her lesson yesterday at Royal Rise Primary and it was also their performance! (Video coming soon!) not only did the children do a fantastic job, but Georgina went all out with props and masks for them all to keep. And Georgie had previously observed and the confidence in herself and the children has grown significantly! So proud of them all! Well done☺️
Such a fantastic day at Folkestone primary Olympic Games! Lots of talented young dancers who all enjoyed a whole day of sports! It was lovely to meet everyone! Thank you😁👏🕺💃🏼🪩
Erica has been having a wonderful time at hale place recently!
''I was greeted with smiles, handshakes and being told it's so lovely to see you again today at Hale Place.
I had a golden oldies theme planned which involved discussing our favourite Quality Street chocolates before dancing to Perry Comos Magic Moments to which team we supported in the boat race - Oxford or Cambridge?
Everyone was tapping their feet and singing along to the songs and we used egg shakers to emphasise the beat of the music.
We spoke about our memories from the seaside before taking it in turns to throw the beach ball to each other. This bought much excitement and energy to the room and even a couple of cheeky high throws from some participants that I had to catch!
It's always a pleasure visiting Hale Place but my magic moment from today was a lady who was very down and upset when I arrived, was laughing and actually up on her feet dancing alongside me by the end of the session. It goes to show that dancing really does make you happy!' Hale Place Care Solutions
Happy birthday to our wonderful teacher Alice Vereker-Hales!! We hope you have a lovely day!🥳💜

The latest blog post is ready to read… This time it’s about a TRS South Kent class, Educating Dance at Harcourt Primary School. Have you ever thought about dancing to learn about The Wedding Ghost? Well that’s exactly what they did. Find out more here…

Today TRS teacher Georgie started her new club at Chilham primary. She went there a few months ago to do some street dance workshops and they actually remembered most of the steps and the routine! Apparently they've all been practising! How wonderful!
Happy Easter everyone! We hope you have a lovely day enjoying the sunshine and get lots of yummy treats!
