Southwell Ploughing Match and Show

Many members of the Society will remember with respect and affection the late Richard Esam of Criftin Farm, Epperstone who died last summer. Richard was a long-serving supporter of the Southwell Ploughing Match & Show and was made a Life Member in 2018.

His son-in-law Anton Richards is walking a gruelling 100km (63 miles) in 24 hours across the Peak District to raise funds for Parkinsons UK in his memory. This fundraising is certainly not a stroll in the National Park - it's an exhausting physical and mental challenge for which Anton's putting in miles of training.

The show field is looking fantastic in Oxton thanks to great care and attention of our hosts for the 2024 show!

Our committee came out this morning to have an initial look over the site and discuss the proposed layout plans for this year’s show. The ground and green surroundings look beautiful, it is definitely going to be one of the most scenic show locations!

Today our County Vice Chairs, Jack and Jessica along with Rally Chair, Harry and County Development Officer, Lauren had the pleasure of presenting a cheque to John Eastwood Hospice

The £485 was raised from those who came on a tractor & trailer ride at Southwell Ploughing Match and Show and filled the donation buckets, thanks for your support, it means a great deal to our members when we can support a charity that has supported their family 🩵

We had a fantastic night on Friday at our Autumn Ball! Thank you to everyone who attended - we hope you all enjoyed yourselves! 🍁🍃🍂🚜🥂🍾
