We over come the issue by creating a bigger opening and fitted a drop down loft hatch and then proceeded to fit the new loft ladder.

Recent major stair repair due an unknown leak from years ago but in time had caused rot to the strings of this stair case. Tbf the repair was long over due and fortunately no one had actually fallen through the treads that were no longer supported by the strings.
All replaced and joined back into the original staircase using mdf now ready for a lick of paint and carpet to be refitted.

Something a little bit different for a returning customer this week. I was asked if we could fit their new Swift nesting boxes. This is a great idea to stop these beautiful birds from building nests against your window and soffits. And definitely gives them a safer nesting environment.

Not a job I overly love but hey sometimes you’ve just gotta get on and get done!
Do you have a roof garden growing out of your gutters blocking them up from all of British weather and stopping all that rain water from flowing freely.
Today we cleared out these over grown gutters, repaired the downpipe and sealed up a leaking union bracket much to one of our new customers joy..

Out with old and in with the new. This returning customer needed to update their two remaining windows within their property which have been there since the property was built.
These windows are ‘A’ rated with leaded double glazed units. And they look like a stunning upgrade compared to the old windows.

A young couple and their beautiful baby moved into this lovely house with a couple of things they wanted to change to make it their home.
First thing on the list was to change a sliding door into their lounge over to a 1930’s style glazed solid door in keeping with the rest of the property. And next was to supply and fit new 4” bull nose skirting board to their downstairs w/c where the previous owners never quite got the job completed.

A massive congratulations Yeovil Town FC on winning the National league south this week and lifting trophy today at home at Huish Park from all of us at Next Level…

Whilst still dodging the rain we’ve managed to complete some putty hack outs. Our customer was getting double vision off of Heritage double glazed units so opted to replace them with 6mm clear glass. This meant we had to back bead the glass to bring it forward so that the glass sat as far forward as the double glazed units once did. It was also decided to replace the putty with hardwood glazing beads.

Complete bedroom renovation beginning with stripping back and removing the built in wardrobes. Removed plasterboard to one side of the adjoining bedroom wall insulated to soundproof and help with heating. Boarded back over using mdf boards to be able to build the new wardrobe off of with sliding mirrored wardrobe doors.
Cut back plasterboard above the window, boarded with mdf and refitted the plasterboard to strengthen the wall to be able to fit a curtain rail without it pulling back out of the plasterboard under the weight of the curtains. The same procedure was used to able to fit a telly to the wall.
All skirting and architrave removed.
The whole bedroom was then rewired by Falcon Electrical for extra sockets fitted in more practical areas, also spot lights to the ceiling and pir’s fitted for automatic led strip lighting with inside of the wardrobe.
The room was then plastered as the the house was only dry lined when originally built.
It was decided to upgrade the radiator to the correct size for the room and to redirect the pipe work from out of the wall to come up through the floor using copper pipe instead of plastic quick fit. All plumbing work was carried out by K S Plumbing & Heating.
Coving was fitted to the ceiling and new softwood skirting and architrave was also fitted.
The room was then completely decorated throughout by KS painting and decorating.

Due to this old plaster lath soffit falling to pieces it was due for an update to a Upvc system. Using vented soffit replacement Upvc fascia board and upgrading the guttering from half round to deep flow. My customers will now no longer need to lay out for repairs and painting. It will just need cleaning every now and then.

Here at Next Level we were asked by Proudhouse Property Management if we could make any repairs to this old timber door to one of their HMO properties. Unfortunately due to the age of it it was decided the door was past its sell by date.
It was agreed that we would replace the door with an up to date composite door with multi point locking and ‘A’ rated double glazed top light. As you can see we’ve managed to keep the same look as the original fitted door.

Recent upgrade from very old aluminium sliding patio door in a timber subframe. To a white Upvc ‘A’ Rated patio door with a substantial upgraded locking mechanism from the original door that was fitted.

Patch repair to a flat roof.
After our customer had climbed on the roof for some maintenance to his gutter he’d realised the timber under foot was very soft.
The reason was the gutter was fitted incorrectly and had been continuously leaking in the same place for some years which had caused the felt and timber to root.
So we repaired the gutter using the correct union bracket between the 2 different styles of gutter. Stripped back the felt and removed all rotted timber.
We replaced the roof joists and also insulated it where there was no insulation before. Boarded back over and then teamed up with Acorn Roofing & Building Services for the laying of the felt.
