We're a charity facilitating peer-to-peer book clubs which inspire a lifelong love of reading and critical thinking in young people. Our patron is Alex Wheatle.
We are a charity facilitating peer to peer book clubs which inspire a lifelong love of reading and critical thinking in children. Since inception we have delivered book clubs to over 10,000 secondary and primary school pupils. We create a place in school curriculum time for pupils aged 7-16 where:

Get ready to celebrate the inaugural Michael Rosen Day on 12 November, marking 50 years since Michael’s first published book. It’s going to be a riotous, joyful celebration of poetry, books and reading for pleasure 🎉
The free live-streamed event will be hosted by MC Grammar. Join in to hear Michael share his poetry and love of books, and ask him questions in the live Q&A session!

Teachers, school librarians and book clubbers and leaders themselves tell us how book clubs boost young people's mental health.
Our book list also includes stories that raise awareness and encourage an understanding of mental health issues, such as A MONSTER CALLS by Patrick Ness and Siobhan Dowd.
The theme for Black History Month is Reclaiming Narratives, which is exactly what our charity's patron, Alex Wheatle, does.

Summer Book Club helps new year 7s with the transition from primary to secondary school. It’s a time that can often feel daunting and when children may stop reading for pleasure.
We’re providing free questions and activity packs, materials for teachers to use in lessons or assemblies, and a free live author Q&A in September for schools. Thank you to Walker Books for providing reduced-price books for schools, and the e-book is available for everyone for just 99p from 15 July to 18 August 2023.
