In 2005/2006ish, me and my friends had been to see Reel Big Fish and Fandangle at Birmingham Carling Academy—it was the day I wanted to be in a ska punk band.

My old band (Accidental President) were breaking up, but three of the four of us continued and morphed into Last Edition. We sent out a message on Myspace looking for horn players and after a few months of practicing we played our first gig in 2008 ish.

I think if you were to show me the pictures from the Half Drunk Club weekender 15 years ago, I'd have laughed in your face—and had you sectioned.

Sam, Sharpie and Danny—what an incredible night Saturday was. The perfect way for us to come to a temporary pause. It doesn't matter if we play 5 gigs a year, or 50—the buzz from joining you onstage will never, ever get old.

Sam and Sharpie. I said this onstage but I shall say it again—you're going to take to parenthood so well—you've been looking after my s**t for 15 years so it'll be a doddle, I'm sure!

On a serious note—myself, the rest of the Last Edition family wish you all the best, we can't wait to meet the newest member of the Last Edition family (they'll be playing woodwind, right?). We love you loads and you know we're always here for you.

To those that turned up on Saturday (and the whole weekend), thank you for spending your time with us. It's never, ever taken for granted.

To the bands that joined us on Saturday, Andy B and The World, Codename Colin, The Hostiles, Fighting Evil Is Cool!, Mr Wolf, Those Fine Strangers and Andrea Kenny Music—thank you so much for your friendship over the years. Being friends with other people in bands is a truly unique type of friendship. Realistically, we see each other 4 or 5 times a year? But that bond is *so* strong, we can't wait to see you all again.

We're not sure when we will be back, but when the time is right—you just might see us bouncing around a stage again in 2024. Until then, TTFN.

, In ONE week, we'll be limbering up for our Half Drunk Club 2023 set, which will be our last show before a break!

We're joined by so many friends—it's going to be a special night for sure.

2023 has been quite the year for us in Last Edition!

You will have seen Naomi at our gigs—a vital member of the Last Edition family, taking snaps and generally keeping me (Matty) in one piece—well, in March we got married! It was an incredible day, spent with our amazing family and friends. We scrub up well, 'eh? 💙
