We Are Curious Souls
We're facing some big challenges; We feel our collective fears over climate change and inequality and see the negative results in the health of ourselves, our families and communities.
Yet often we feel powerless to help.
Ready to ignite your power?
I believe more facts, data and science aren't going to solve these problems. Instead we need a cultural and spiritual transformation. But how?
It starts with us.
When we listen to our inner voice, we raise ourselves up - and bring our friends, family, colleagues and communities with us.
To me, yoga isn’t just exercise or even moving meditation. Yoga is a form of activism.
To me, spiritual practices of any kind are a form of activism.
Women gathering together to support one another is definitely activism.
When we practise together or you attend a women’s circle, not only are you investing in your own peace, you are part of a movement for social change.
You are a peace activist, my friend.
Welcome to the revolution; it starts with YOU.
Meet Tamsin
Tamsin's story
I want to make something clear:
I don’t claim to be an "expert" on the things I talk about around here (healing with womb wisdom, moon magic, storytelling).
But I very much AM qualified to talk about my experiences. I simply share the tools that have helped me and support women to connect with their own source of power and healing.
Ok, I DO have some actual paper qualifications like a degree in Literature, and 200hrs yoga teacher training, and a whole heap of bylines in publications like ELLE and the Guardian.
But it’s my experiences that have taught me the most.
Like being a painfully sensitive child who would cry for “no reason”.
Or, sadly, having my first sexual experience be non-consensual, which resulted in a pregnancy and abortion, followed by a very long and deep depression.
My late teens and early twenties were a blur of sadness and self-destruction, in which I self-medicated with anything I could find:
Alcohol
Drugs
S*x
Food
Self-harm
Then in 2012 I abruptly woke up.
I travelled alone to the US and spent a week in silent retreat at Thich Nhat Hanh’s Buddhist monastery.
I started to write A LOT.
I entered ELLE’s writing competition, telling the story of my abortion and came runner-up!
I quit my job and started writing full-time!
I came out the closet!
I lived in India for a year, veering from doing lots of drugs, to being in ashrams and meditating 8 hours a day. Both taught me a lot.
I was given The Rite of the Womb and it set me on a journey to heal my sexual trauma. I’ve now passed it on to dozens of women.
I trained in Hatha yoga in India, at an ashram that told me being gay means I have a ‘defect in my soul’. I got my qualification and got the f*** out of there - self-appointed gurus can kiss my 🍑
I’ve trained with womb yoga pioneer Uma Dinsmore Tulli and in shamanic womb journeys with Taki’h and Yoni massage with Catia Leitão.
I’ve been in circles with countless women and heard their stories and held their pain.
I have fallen down and picked myself up more times than I can count.
I am a warrior.
I do the work.
And I proudly believe in the work I do now and know it wouldn’t have anywhere near as much depth if it wasn’t for
these experiences - every last painful and joyous one of them.
Now I help women tell their stories and express their very essence.
I help women who need to get their story out so they can grow businesses that make them lots of money. I love money and I want more of it to be in the hands of women.
I help women express themselves on the yoga mat. Not in the way I was shown at the ashram (because women are not little soldiers with square hips; We move differently and our yoga reflects our bodies and emotions).
I hold space for women in virtual and IRL women’s circles in my home town of Newcastle upon Tyne in northern England. (Yes, I am a Geordie! Turns out your don’t have to live in California or Byron Bay or Bali to do this work - who knew!?).
Women’s circles are powerfully healing, empowering us to live cyclically with the moon, Mother Earth and our menstrual cycles. I LOVE THEM.
Women who work with me go from feeling disconnected, disempowered and unable to move forward, to feeling in tune with their inner wisdom, the sisterhood, and their bigger purpose here.
If this speaks to you and you feel drawn to work with me - to connect with your womb, birth your story, or tap into your soul purpose, send me an email, join the Curious Souls Sisterhood on Facebook and let’s get to know each other.
The spiritual path can be a long and confusing one, but it’s SO worth walking.
Thank you for being here.
In love and sisterhood
Tamsin x
