When you feel SMALL, WRONG, INSIGNIFICANT, POWERLESS OR AFRAID, it very likely comes from your earlier years. Here is a little activity for you:
Close your eyes and check in to your Heartspace and consciously tune into Little You - that Little Girl inside.
Ask her to show you when SHE felt like this, and then give her all the love, support and encouragement that she needs to feel safe. Listen to what she has to say - I mean really listen. What is she saying in between what she is saying . . . Listen with your body, your heart . . . When Little You feels HEARD, SEEN, ACKNOWLEDGED, AND LOVED so will YOU

I love my work supporting women who have had trauma in their lives I also love that we tend to teach what we need to learn. I certainly needed my programmes as a young woman. My healing has involved (and still does) healing my wounded little girl inside and giving her all the love and attention she needed but never got from the adults around her. She has needed support as a teenager, a young woman, a pre-verbal baby and a baby in the womb and everything in between

EMOTIONAL MASTERY CIRCLE

The Invitation to SLOW...

No matter your plans for this week (it is Thanksgiving in the US)

And I remind you, SLOWing is NOT STOPPING!

We are talking about an internal state of being of choosing self love over worry and allowing that to be the intention that fuels us into external doing.

So don't just fill your cup first, SLOW down enough to be with that cup, and make sure it's full of LOVE, GRATITUDE, COMPASSION, and I like to add a dash of HUMOR πŸ˜‰

Step 1 - Pick a Song that will be your SLOW song for the week. This is a song you can play in the car, while you are doing dishes, in the bathtub, dancing with your kids, or hiding in the bathroom. Let this song be not just your anthem, but your connection to the state you would choose to live in.

Step 2 - Breathing. Do this with your song. Pause as you enter and exit every room. Set a timer on your phone. Yes, we are lucky that we breathe automatically. And also, pay attention. Consciously breathing reconnects you to presence, allows life to slow down, and reminds you to see, feel, and be with all of the beauty that is around you.

Step 3 - Pick a Mantra. Mantras are light slogans of light that connect us and remind us and ground us. A great mantra might be, Self Love Over Worry, or I choose me, or I'm just breathing. It doesn't need to be fancy. You just need to remember it, and use it. Sticky notes, alerts on phones, signs on doors, written on your hand. Whatever is going to help you. Pick a mantra, and use it often!

Step 4 - Set your Environment. We often pull out of SLOWness simply with the chaos of life. Some environmental cues can help us. Shut off the TV, or at least keep it low. Background noise is a super agitator so the less of that, or the more conscious it is, by choosing something supportive like healing tones or melodic music, the better. Dimming the lights, or keeping fewer lights on is also helpful to decrease agitation. Candle light is a great support! Also using soothing smells in a diffuser. Nature sounds, running water - all great choices!

Step 5 - Daily Meditation Practice. I believe a daily meditation practice is essential for choosing the SLOW life. It doesn't have to be long, and I am not concerned with what type of meditation you do, but having a practice that supports your inner life is essential. I have one for you that should take away all the excuses of time, not knowing what to do, or being good at meditation. I hope you will join me in this Sacred Pause.

I have been asking lots of questions lately in a couple of fb groups I am in; and quite frankly the responses have been heartbreaking. I have been asking about the sorts of comments people make to women after they have had a traumatic birth experience.
Here is some of what I have heard:

Well at least the baby is ok
But it was worth it all wasn't it?
Oh you had a c-section - took the easy way out "lol"
Just be grateful your baby is healthy
You survived didn't you?!

The sad thing is every woman that responded said that she felt either ignored, unheard, unseen, invalidated, as though she didn't count and she should just carry on and be grateful - it makes my blood boil. Yes a lot of comments were from health professionals but most were from well meaning loved ones.

We need to do so much more to educate people on the effects of birth trauma (for all concerned) but especially mums, they, in particular appear to get completely overlooked.

To me it's about raising awareness, raising awareness on how a traumatised person feels and acts, raising awareness about how to just hold space for someone, without the need to say something, or to try and fix things, to make them feel better - just BE THERE

βœ”οΈ Do you have some not so good memories from childhood?
βœ”οΈ Do you feel frustratingly blocked and stuck in patterns of behaviour that stop you moving forward in life and business?
βœ”οΈ Are you often triggered by people or situations, and feel unsafe in your body?

If you have a specific memory from childhood and you know that it is still running the show, spend some time when you know you wont be disturbed, bring the memory to mind and step into it. Step in initially as an observer. see Little You on that day/moment in time and any other people involved. Then freeze the whole picture, freeze everyone in the memory apart from Little You - she may be frightened, upset or angry. Talk to her and gently let her know who you are and that you are from the future and come to help her feel better.

Now as you move closer to her, tell her you have a magical way to help her feel better, then begin to TAP on her (EFT), all the time talking to her calmly and lovingly, let her know she is going to be ok.

You are aiming here to calm the stress response she is experiencing in her body at that moment in time. As she calms, bring her close to you and sit with her and hug her tight, rock her, stroke her hair, kiss her forehead, whatever you feel compelled to do or say will be the right thing. The most important is that you let her know she is safe and loved and that you are always there for her.

When she has calmed, and she feels relaxed in your presence, ask her if she would like to go somewhere, perhaps a favourite place or a magical land. Next hold hands with her and jump together - now you are in her magical land or favourite place where anything that she wishes can happen. Spend time here, just the 2 of you, playing, laughing and getting to know each other.

Finally, sit opposite Little You and holding hands again beam a beautiful rose pink light from your heart to hers and see it fill her whole body. Now see her get smaller and smaller in front of you until she is as small as a grain of rice - now feel her drift forward towards you and settle into your heart space. Keep her there where you can check in on her every day, and look down on her and send her your love.
