Corrymeela hosted the Summer Learning Journey last week with around 80 participants gathering to learn about how to nurture hope in places of conflict. Part of this large gathering was the International Seeds Group which has been meeting online for the last year. This was their first time meeting face to face. This programme is funded by Henry Luce Foundation and includes participants from 8 countries including Afghanistan, Lebanon, South Africa and Ukraine.

Please share widely:

Tomorrow, the longest day of the year, is the Day of Reflection about the conflict in and about Northern Ireland. It is a chance for us to acknowledge our hurt, reflect on our life together -- and commit to a future that is better for all of us.

If you are in Belfast tomorrow, join us at St. Anne's Cathedral at 11.30 for an hour-long service as the sun reaches its high point of the year.

We are Corrymeela and you are always welcome.

Community members came together from Bushmills and Ballycastle recently, as part of Volunteers Week 2024 to help one another within their community gardens. Corrymeela gardeners were among those rolling up their sleeves.

This month’s Borderlands explores our human connection to the Earth...the importance of our being grounded in a place, aware of our interdependence on the natural world, the rhythm of the seasons and our responsibility to care and protect it.

We will hear from people active in creating connection to nature, those involved in community gardening in urban spaces and reflect on the sacredness of the ground.

We’ll also have some beautiful music and poetry as always. Join us on 14th May from 7.30pm at the Pavilion in Belfast.

Chag Pesach Sameach!

What a joy to share blessings and food with volunteers, staff and community members.

Children from Jewish, Muslim and Christian families gathered in the Croí this evening as volunteer Haley Bannon led us in a seder meal using a Haggadah she compiled for Corrymeela.

We included on our seder plate oranges to symbolise ‘the fruitfulness that diverse identities and backgrounds bring to Jewish life’ and olives to ‘represent solidarity with Palestinians’ with this universal symbol of peace.

‘L’shana haba-ah b’shalom’
Next year in peace! L’chaim!

Corrymeela

In our increasingly divided world, Corrymeela is a movement of people rallied around one inspirational idea: ‘Together is better’.

Every year we welcome over 8,000 people from all walks of life, to our beautiful Ballycastle home and into our programmes in communities around Northern Ireland.

We deeply believe that everyone is welcome, whatever their background, ethnicity, faith, sexuality or nationality.
We welcome everyone — because together is better.

From programmes enabling young people to tackle sectarianism, to supporting survivors of racism and homophobia, we work relentlessly to tackle intolerance, hatred and oppression.
We challenge injustice — because together is better.
