🚨Preseason Games🚨

With preseason underway yesterday, we are excited to announce all our fixtures for preseason.

All games are mixed sqaud games, so it allows the coaches to assess and get an indication of what players will be starting 1st XV or Nomads for the first league game.

The teams we have chosen to play will give us very competitive games with all teams competing in Level 7, the league we are looking to be in next season.

We begin the season with Ambition and looking two put two competive teams in 2 competive league's to make sure we succeed in keeping to our goals we set as squad.

🚨WINNERS🚨

Captain returned to captain the side this week and guided us to our 2nd victory of the season.

In the singles, we won 4/6, taking a lead of 4-2 into the doubles.

The first doubles see Crafty Crofty bar win the first doubles taking the game to 4-3. The second question is to see Oxford RFC secure the overall victory on the night, taking it to 5-3. The final doubles see Crafty Crofty bar clinch final game to make it 5-4.

Under the leadership of Marvellous Matt Di**le, who captained Oxford RFC to their first overall win in summer mixed darts league.

The singles see both teams equal at 3-3 with the doubles to be played next.

The first game in the doubles see Matt and Henry take the win to take Oxford RFC to 4-3 up. In the second doubles, see the Brewery Tap win the second doubles game to make it 4-4. The final leg sees either team have the chance to win the match overall. Gareth and Benny were able to win the last match to secure our 1st ever win.

🚨Oxford RFC Recruiting 24/25 Season🚨

Oxford 1st XV is looking for experienced players to join our team for the 24/25 season with high ambitions of being promoted to level 7. If you are interested in joining the clubs journey to promotion, then get in touch to meet the coaching team for a chat.

Our Oxford Nomads side are also looking for players of all abilities to come and join us for the 24/25 season. Our Nomads 2nd XV is a team built upon giving players regular, competitive rugby matches with a clear pathway to the 1st XV. With the Nomads entering a league this year, they are a key side in the clubs development to integrate players coming through our Colts section.

We played well this week against the WADS Bar. The scoreline does not reflect how well the lads played. This first league we've ever entered, and the majority of lads have never picked up a set of darts until recently.

The Fox Inn, Denchworth, Near Wantage, Oxford 5️⃣

This game see two teams battle throughout the night to be on top and win the match.

The Fox took an early lead, winning the first 3 single matches. We then won the next 2 singles matches to make tie the match 3-2. The final singles game, the Fox won, making the score 4-2.

The doubles see Oxford RFC win making it 4-3 & we also won the 2nd doubles match, taking it 4-4 into the last doubles match. The final game of doubles meant that either team could walk away winning the match, taking victory overall.

The last match sees the Fox take the first leg, and then Oxford replies, winning the second leg. Oxford RFC scored very well in the 3rd leg but struggled to hit that double, allowing the Fox pairing to punish Oxford RFC missing the doubles.

Overall, performance was a decent night, and either team could have won on the night, but unfortunately for us, we will be taking the loss.
