The scheme was introduced to acknowledge good practice of teaching and to show appreciation for excellent support and talent. Whether you like the one-to-one tutorials, enjoyed watching videos as part of lectures, or appreciate the engagement and communication in class, professors won't know unless you tell them! You can also nominate staff members within student services and Faculty Officers.

The conservation volunteers have exciting job vacancies.
They are currently looking for enthusiastic people aged 16-29, who have experienced some obstacles to gaining employment within the sector, to join their WildSkills Traineeship Program. They are looking to recruit Trainees across the UK, including Manchester, Leeds, Hull and London.
During the part-time (24.5 hours per week) 12-month traineeship you will gain skills in practical conservation (habitat creation, path contruction, invasive species removal), biodiversity (identification of flora and fauna, wildlife recording) and community engagement (working with local communities, suppirting events and volunteer sessions). The traineeship is mainly field-based and although the ‘base’ office is set in a certain location, it will require travel to various other locations. There is an induction at the start of the post, and you will gain valuable skills throughout.
The application deadline for the traineeship program are the 9th of March, except for the London traineeship, for which applications are open until the 12th of March.

Co2balance is hiring a Carbon Projects Officer!

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust currently has job vacancies for a Trainee Assistant Reserves Officer and a Trainee Ecologist.
The Trainee Ecologist will assist in ecological survey and monitoring of the Trust’s Estate and support funded project work. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in conducting a vast array of survey types such as bat, butterfly, reptile and white-crayfish surveys, as well as data collection, analysis, using GIS and field equipment. The roles (2 available) are to commence either at the beginning of April of May and are on a fixed contract basis for 6 or 8 months, 35 hours per week.
The Trainee Assistant Reserves Officer will be assisting the delivery of the organization’s reserves and ‘Wilder’ vision in the Solent. You will gain experience of conservation management of different habitat types and will be working to monitor sites of national and international importance, such as the Farlington Marshes. The post will start in early April and is a fixed contract for 6 months, 35 per week.

Stress Control course
A new free 'Stress Control' course begins on Monday 16 September, from 6.15pm - 7.45pm. This course will take place every Monday evening, in Lecture Theatre W1, Cottrell Building for five sessions.
The course will help with controlling stress, which includes anxiety, depression, panic, insomnia, low self-confidence, irritability and anger, drinking and using drugs to excess, and burnout. There is no discussion of personal problems in the class. This means you can attend without concerns if you feel uncomfortable talking in front of others.
