Watch out for adders!

As the weather warms up, these venomous snakes wake up from hibernation. Inquisitive dogs are most at risk, with many being bitten on the face.

Due to a hospital stay, probably for most of this coming weekend, messages will not be responded to until next week

Due to Nigel having to have an operation that is going to leave him unable to drive for at least 4 weeks and unable to lift for another 4weeks we are forced to reduce the services we can offer

CSJ will still be supplied and delivered by DPD bags ordered in multiples of 2 will remain the same price single bags will carry a £5.00 surcharge.

Delivery of all other items will be stopped unless we have already spoken to you

We hope to return to our full service as soon as possible but have to be guided by doctors orders

We are considering changing the way we deliver CSJ dog food
We have been running a trial that has worked out successfully and are now looking to permanently move over.

Delivery will be of 2 bags at a time, these can be any 2 15Kg bags of CSJ dog food and our norma price will apply

Single bags can be ordered but a supplementary charge of £5.00 will apply to cover carriage. Additional carriage will also apply to the Highlands and Islands but please contact us for further information

Goods will be delivered to your door by DPD who are able to accept special instructions if you are not going to be in.

Let me stay home. It's too hot for me to walk and run next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to.
And feel my paws burn.
I'm looking at you for a moment, but you do not understand. Because in a little over 5 minutes we're at the cool puddle, right? But those little 5 minutes
can be fatal to me. Because I sweat through my paws, and in this heat I just cannot get rid of the sweat. My whole body is boiling, but I keep going
And then I end up on the tarmac. In the heat and in the sun. With my tongue out of my mouth and my eyes flashing in the sun. My paws are burning, my
tongue is dry and my head is pounding in the heat that my body cannot get rid of…

Instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of cool water, somewhere in the shade. And best of all like in a cool area with grass.

Curious dogs and Adders don't mix!

Adders are the only venomous snakes found in the UK and now the weather is becoming warmer they are starting to become more active. Dogs may accidentally encounter these snakes and suffer painful bites - usually to the head and forelimbs. Adders have the typical black/brown diamond pattern on their back, are around 50-60cm long and are commonly found on sandy heaths/dunes, wood/moorlands and rocky hillsides

If you think your pet has been bitten by an adder:
• Do not panic.
• Do not interfere with the bite.
• Do not apply a tourniquet.
• Do not attempt to touch or catch the snake.
• Do not kill the snake – it is a protected species.
• If practical, carry your dog to your car and go to your veterinary surgeon - do not delay seeking advice even if your pet is well.

Bites may or may not cause envenomation, either way they are painful and can cause significant swelling. Venomous bites may cause additional signs of lethargy, drooling, vomiting and collapse. In serious cases adder bites may cause kidney failure, abnormal heart rhythms and bleeding disorders.
Treatment is supportive and most often successful when given promptly so don't delay in seeking treatment

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Wizz the logo for our company has left us today
She started having troubles in July 2021 and today she started to fit. We took her to the vets and it was decided that the best option for her was to say goodbye.
Understandably both Julie and I are devistated but you have to do what is best for them
So thank you Wizz for being a huge part of our lives and bringing us so many fantastic memories

January has, as usual, given us the anual price increases from most of our suppliers. However this year there has been a larger than normal increase from some.

Added to this with fuel costs remaining so high we are also goint to have to increase our minimum order value for free delivery from £25.00 to £30.00. Orders under £30.00 will be subject to a £7.50 delivery charge.
