Helping The Homeless - Wakefield
Working to end homelessness in Wakefield. We strive to give people a future they can believe in.
We are very pleased to announce that Wakefield Council are now working with our charity, to find suitable council land to put NAPpads on to accommodate Wakefield rough sleepers and homeless.
We really hope they help us make this happen. 🤞🤞

Wakefield Council spends more than £2m on hotels for homeless people Wakefield Council says there is no "quick fix" to solving the problem, which has seen spending soar.
Well, we survived the sleep-out at Wakefield Trinity Rugby ground. we slept outside on the veranda and the temperature dropped to 0 with frost. Not even 3 layers and a 3 season sleeping bag and blanket could keep the cold at bay, which meant we had to abandon at 5am as people were literally starting to freeze.
Please spare a thought for the poor souls who do this every night.
It's still not too late to donate.

In an exciting collaboration, Helping The Homeless Wakefield is teaming up with Wakefield Trinity Rugby Club for a remarkable cause. Together, we're braving the elements and sleeping in the stadium on the 24th of November, to rally behind the fight against homelessness in Wakefield. The evening promises food, music, guest speakers, and quizzes. We extend a warm invitation to everyone in the Wakefield community to join us for this unforgettable event.

📣 WE NEED SPACE TO RENT!
We have secured some NAPpads to ensure our Wakefield homeless communities have a safe and warm place to sleep this winter.
However, we need space that we can rent so we can home the NAPpads, if you are aware of any vacant spaces, please message us today 👏
They need to be a mile outside of the centre and the NAPpads take up a floor space of just under 8 metres x 4 metres and is approximately 3 metres tall.

It's great to see the Homeless emergency shelter is now open, but such a shame that the temperature has to fall to 0 degrees for the council to open it.
Hypothermia starts at 10 degrees.
Help us provide an all-year-round emergency shelter for the homeless. Donate what you can and help us save lives this winter.
