Balayage Queen 🪄

Over the xmas period we decided to tone this down and do a reverse balayage as she was over the bright blondes

BUT …

Yesterday she came in and was like i miss my lightness and with summer approaching i want to be back in my blonde era

So i waved a magic wand and wallah

She back blonde

If you ever want to go darker please pleaseee only use semis

I went as dark as a base 6 with her reverse but because it was only a semi i was able to get her back light in one session

Please stay away from box dyes if your ever unsure drop me a dm 🫶

A Journey

So this client came to me all the way from london for me to correct her hair
As you can see there is a-lot of banding here own natural colour is darker and it just needed fixing

I explained this js going to be a process because i couldn’t do everything i needed to yesterday without leaving out any of that old colour

I did a scattered balayage with money piece and what was left out i coloured with 5a

I wanted to do tip outs to achieve what she wanted but it was impossible on this app as i needed all that colour gone and it would of just left me with another warm band

Not everyone can get their end goal in one session

We call it “Trust The Process”

Her next app in a few month will. Definitely be her end goal

Also after care on this is a must
It was very over processed and was lacking in moisture
If there is one thing my clients can say about me its that my after care is next to nothing
I go into that much detail about everything, they sit there buying all what I recommend whilst in my chair
I make zero profit of it which means im really passionate about these products

As a hairstylist we take 1,00000 of photos

Colour done at a previous salon which left her with blocky colour and it being very brassy

The method
Fine foils adding the odd lowlight in

This is still a process as we still have some old colour in there

But i think the end results are winning

The last few appointments we’ve been doing reverse balayages

But On this app we needed to bring it higher again
So this was only a 30 foil placements with online education technique which I’m loving doing
Less is more so for this type of colour placement is key 🔑

Then everything left out was painted with 5m & 6m so sync

Who said brunettes had to be boring

I am finalists 🙌🏽

If anyone knows me they know this is completely out my comfort zone
Filling out forms ect is something I struggle with😂
So when i saw i had to explain stuff about me and my passion i panicked and clicked off it straight away and told myself maybe i wont enter …

Anyway weeks later i decided to go back on it as the dead line was running out and try and fill it out the best i could
It may be something so little to everyone else but it was such a big thing for me
And i finally did it 🙌🏽

My passion has always been hair since the age of 15 when i got my first job straight out of school
I qualified in a year and the rest is history 20 years later

4 years ago i decided to take a massive leap and go self employed which was on of the scariest things I’ve ever done (apart from labour😂) not knowing if id have a busy clientele
And just doing it alone was nerve racking
But it worked
Im busy, i have a fantastic clientele
Ive got some fantastic friends from it
And I’m just forever grateful for you all, new and old

Sometimes working for myself and running a business is bloody hard but the way its made me grow and be the best i can be is just wholesome

And then to be picked as a finalist is just amazing even if i win or i Don’t, just entering for me was a massive accomplishment

Her last appointment was a whole year ago we did full head foils and an ashy tone

Fast forward a year and shes back in my chair with a seamless grow out and the colour is still 😍

But this time we went a bit lighter and im here for it

My client used to have a full head of highlights somewhere else but it was always brassy

She wanted something less maintenance so we opted for a root smudge

And we got her to that bright blonde she always wanted 🙌🏽

The lighting did me dirty as it was 7pm and raining 😭 so this is as good as it gets

The aim, more or a seamless blend and less maintenance

So what did we do here?

Mainly tip outs with a few fine foils just to give some dimension but with a large root smudge so she can have a more natural grow out which means she will probably only have the full works done once but keep up on her maintenance apps through out the year

This was just a toner appointment on Tuesday

Her before pic is when she first came to me back in June last year

I wanted to show you how far we’ve come

Shes had one full balayage with me in June 2023
One Top up
And two Toner all in the space of 11 months
We can probably get away with another top up before we need to do the full works again

But look how fresh her colour looks just by doing maintenance appointments through out the year
Which cost £150-£160 for top ups and £65 for toner apps

This is the good thing about balayages there are actually less maintenance once you’ve had the full works done

It took me around 3.5 hours just to foil this
You probably thinking why so long?
Well To get that maximum lift i like to take very fine weaves so we can achieve that bright blonde
On dark hair like this sometimes its difficult to get that lift but the trick is small sections

Blondes are slowly coming back ready for summer and I’m here for them
