Completed my wallpapering assessment i have done w coats of matt emulsion on the back wall, dado area and on the ceiling area, i have used vinyl wallpaper on the wall filling and i gave also painted the skirting and dado rail with acrylic undercoat and acrylic gloss for the finishing coat.

National apprenticeship week and the dulux academy came in today showing us some decorative effects, we looked at the sponging effect and also a ragrolling effect too

Completed my assessment piece now by finishing with a fleur-de-lis stencil i have completed it with stencil paint and a stencil brush.

Started and finished the wood graining on my assessment piece today, i have used raw umber and raw sienna acrylic paint on acrylic glaze which is burnt umber and paines gray. I have used a mottler brush on the decorative piece and i have used a dragger on the practice panel. I have also prepared my stencil for tomorrow using fibre liner and shellac knotting solution.

Done the first two decorative effects on my assessment piece today ive done a bagging effect on the centre square using a bin bag and acrylic glaze. I have also done a ragrolling effect on the middle square using a lint free cloth and acrylic glaze.

Started to create my decorative piece now i have marked all the lines out using a chalk line and i have also masked and applied 2 coats of acrylic eggshell to the outer box and my practice board too

Applied a second coat of paint on wall filling and dado area and ive also started to mark out my decorative design for my assessment and also put a third coat of acrylic eggshell on my skirting board too

Slowly building on my assessment work now ive used cream acrylic eggshell on the trim and wall filling and ive also used pink matt emulsion on the dado area

Wood graining done with acrylic glaze and acrylic paint using a dragger (right side) and a mottler (left side) to create different grain effects and also added different colours such as burnt umber and burnt sienna to create a more realistic look.
