Hi guys I’ve no appointments left for the rest of August and have half of September booked out, if you need an appointment soon and haven’t got it booked please get in touch as I literally can’t squeeze an appointment in anywhere!

Very thankful to be in this position but I don’t want anyone missing out ❤️

Hi guys
Just a reminder to PLEASE check your dogs for fleas before you bring them to me, as I don’t have a separate bathing and grooming room I have to close when I get a dog in the bath with fleas.

Often times they aren’t as visible until wet, which means I then have to dry the dog off blasting fleas all over the salon and having to close for the day.

**If fleas are apparent on appointment, you will be charged the appointment fee anyway and the dog will be sent home. I understand often times clients are unaware of fleas but you should be checking after each walk this time of year as they can carry many diseases**

Everytime this happens I have to rearrange clients into an already booked out schedule and it is an absolute nightmare,
I can sometimes receive unkind messages for doing this,
My choices are: reschedule the appointments and let off a flea bomb, or risk giving the rest of the clients for the day fleas - my hands are tied.

Hey guys, temperature is too hot tomorrow to be working safely, I’m keeping an eye on the temperatures for appointments and will be in touch if and when needed.

This is to reduce the risk of heat stroke in the salon, if the weather outside is 30 degrees it’s easily 40 in the salon with the dryers going, imagining that weather in a winter coat as it would feel for a dog just isn’t safe, your dogs welfare is always at the forefront of my decisions

Little man is on the mend

The vets think it’s something to do with the glands in his neck, the salivary gland and lymph nodes are pretty close in a dog so it’s hard to establish which,
he’s got some pain killers and antibiotics and fingers crossed it should heal but with him obviously moving his neck so much when adjusting he’s still crying out in pain 😞
few hours and meds should kick in, got him some electrolyte bone broth too as he’s obviously not wanted to drink or eat anything

Hi guys I will be cancelling today’s appointments as my Otis is very poorly & stressed out and is in at the vets at 11am, we’re not 100% sure what it is but I think he may have a problem with his teeth and cries every time I leave him to just walk out the room
He is known to be a bit of a drama queen and I just wish he could tell me what’s wrong and what’s hurting 💔

Hey guys it’s due to be pretty hot this week,
if temperatures in my salon get too high I will have to reschedule some appointments, heat stroke is a big risk especially for those dogs that have thick coats and take a lot of drying, elder dogs and pups even with air con and dehumidifier

Please bare with me in this time, I realise this may be an inconvenience for you guys but not as much as your dog getting extremely poorly from the heat
Where possible please bring your dog down in the car, walking them in this heat will make them hot before they even get here, the tarmac will be too hot for your dogs paws also
If anybody is concerned about their dog in the heat and wish to rearrange on their own accord I will do so with no cancellation policy this week - I care more about your dogs safety

The majority of behaviours presented are distance increasing behaviours. These are used by dogs to diffuse situations they are uncomfortable with to avoid conflict. It is your duty as a dog owner to watch and learn these signs to prevent your dog from escalating to the red zones.

Often times certain behaviours are missing such as a growl, as this behaviour has been punished, so the dog will skip this step and proceed upwards.

Growls are communication that your dog is uncomfortable/fearful! They are not to be punished, but to be listened to!
