What a great day we had! An early start as always, we were ‘gifted’ with pretty much all weathers which included rain (of course), wind, hail but also some sunshine …yes I know, we were spoilt 😂
We collected the ducks for our delivery route down the Jurassic Coast. We met our amazing rehomers, had lots of interest generated by our ‘ Chook Truck’ but most of all because of you we found homes for our gorgeous girls today.
We have kept one duck back because of an injured leg which we will treat plus one of her buddies as it wouldn’t be fair for her to be on her own. So once they are fit and ready to we will find a special home for them, keep your eyes peeled. One has been named by one of our brilliant volunteers already, her name is now ‘Carmen’ but we need another so any suggestions are welcome 💜🦆💜
Thank you as always to all of you who share our posts which in turn generates the interest to find out who we are, to our rehomers and to all our amazing volunteers without whom we wouldn’t be able to do all of this 💜💜💜
Next weekend we have our local hen rehome and still have a few girls left so don’t miss out. Have a great weekend.
Team Wareham xx

Thank you for your offers of new homes 🥰 We have to keep 2 back as one is injured and it wouldn’t be fair to have one on her own until she’s better. Once they are ready for rehoming we will post on here
🦆💜🦆

****Edit:- 🦆🦆 2 left ****

We had a few more lovely ducks extra this morning so if you’re picking up from Wareham/Wimborne/Shaftesbury or Sherborne today and like to increase your numbers by 1 or 2 (we have 4 spare left) please message us 🦆🦆🦆🦆

Some snapshots of today’s rescue 🐓💜 It was wet and VERY muddy which resulted in a few trips, slips and falls 😂 But just short of 1200 hens found their new homes this weekend which is why we all do this 💜🐓💜

Photos from Chicken Rescue UK Dorset/Wareham's post 16/02/2024

💜🐓The Chook Truck is packed ready to leave here at 3:30am tomorrow to go to our first farm of 2024! We will meet the other amazing teams there so we can catch, crate and transport the 1200 hens ready for their forever homes all over the South of England and just under 180 will come to Dorset. So if you see us out and about please give us a wave 👋 As we always say this wouldn’t be possible without your support so the biggest thank you has to go to all our supporters! For those of you who have missed out this time, we have another rescue coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled. And for those who have reserved and are picking up tomorrow and Sunday, we look forward to seeing you then 💜🐓

*UPDATE* : This beautiful boy has now found his well deserved forever home! Thank you all for sharing and for making this possible 💜🐓💜

This beautiful boy is looking for his forever home. He hatched September ‘23 and we are told he is a Sumatra / Silkie cross.
If you’re interested please message us. The usual rehoming rules apply which means we need to see the fox proof hutch and outside run. Pick up would be from here on Saturday, 17th Feb 💜🐓💜

13/02/2024

You guys are amazing… we’ve actually hit our target and all of these girls have found their forever homes for this rehome, but don’t worry if you’ve missed out this time! We have another coming up very soon and even more girls will be eager to meet you 🥰

Keep watch on our page and our website at www.chickenrescue.co.uk for our launch date, and don’t forget we also have lots of lovely quackers looking for their new pond to live in!

Our lovely followers, we need your help and these gorgeous girls REALLY need your help.

Our first rehome of 2024 is for 1,200 hard working hens. These girls will still be laying lovely eggs and they would love to lay their eggs especially for you, their new families.

So can we ask you, our fabulous chook army, to step up and help us ensure the processor lorry goes away empty and all of or CRU drivers leave the farm full ?

We can do this BUT we can only do this with your help and support. So please could you:-

SHARE this post because SHARES = HOMES for these hens and gives them a future to look forward to and TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY about Chicken Rescue UK and what we do.

Without your support we can’t do this. Without you, these hens will never know what it feels like to have a name or how it feels to be loved 💜

So if you can offer them a new home please head over to the website and reserve your girls at www.chickenrescue.co.uk

🐓💜🐓💜 Libby (as we named her) has found her amazing forever home with 3 new gentle sisters! We can’t wait for updates 🐓💜🐓
Thank you for all your offers to adopt her, it is so heartwarming to know that we have such caring people in our group. Please keep an eye out for our rehome days. We still have a few deserving hens left for
the 17/18th looking for their retirement coop, it will change their lives.

*****. UPDATE *****
She has found a new home subject to the usual rehoming rules and we will update as soon as it has been decided. Thank you so much for the shares, the support each time is just great!! 💜🐓💜

💜🐓Can you help? We have had a lone hen returned so she needs a small group of friendly hens to go to. Unfortunately her flight feathers were clipped way too short on both wings so she’ll need a little tlc. Are you the one who can show her that and give her the life she deserves? She is a ‘ginger ninja’ and although a little shy at the moment we are sure that she’ll blossom with the right home. Photo to follow. Please message us if you can help. Thank you as always for changing the lives of these lovely girls🐓💜
Photo is of her when she arrived here. Such a sweet girl 💕

🐓 💜 💜🐓
In case you are wondering why it is so quiet here, we are all are very busy behind the scenes organising our first rehome of 2024, 17th February. With the help of all of you , our great supporters, we are finding those well deserved retirement homes for these hard working hens but we are not quite there yet. Every ‘share’ can result in a potential reservation, isn’t that amazing? And don’t forget we have collection points all over the South (they are all listed in the post below) so if you have a relative, friend or colleague who lives near any of them and who always wanted to start or continue the chicken journey, why not give them a gentle nudge? 🥰 If you have any questions, please remember we are always here to help, guide and offer advice.
Thank you from all of us at Chickem Rescue UK 💜🐓💜

After last week’s horrendous downpours we had the outside flooded and as a result we now have mud everywhere. Our henbank is unusable and our poor chickens are being treated to unwanted mud baths. We could really do with a load of wood chip as well to soak up and cover the mud. As it’s just the 3 of us here running Wareham Collection Point but 2 of us are currently injured, we would be super grateful for any help you can offer to clear up. That could be 1 hour of man power or more if you feel up to it. It doesn’t have to be a specific day so whenever would work for you is fine by us. We will supply unlimited tea and biscuits and be forever grateful.
💜💜 Thank you as always 💜💜

Photos from Chicken Rescue UK Dorset/Wareham's post 24/12/2023

Where to start! We here at Chicken Rescue UK Dorset/Wareham had the most amazing 2023! Don’t get us wrong, it wasn’t easy. Numbers first:- We had over 1500 rescue hens come through our gates, over 20 cockerels, 1 peacock and let’s not forget …..ducks! We had a few poorly hens, most of them are back to health and also found new forever homes, the rest of them will live out their natural lives here with us. Without you, our followers and supporters we wouldn’t be able to do this. You also always amaze us with your generosity. If we ask for spare cat carriers, dog crates, newspapers, egg boxes…you deliver! All of you have played a part in making sure that we can continue to do this. Every ‘share’, every ‘like’, every mention makes it possible for us to continue saving these beautiful animals. Our fantastic volunteers…what can I say apart from that you are amazing! You join us on the farms, you drive hens to various collection points, you help on rehome days, you join the super busy admin team, the list is endless! And if you feel you want to join this great team, please let us know, you will love it!
We, Phil, Jade and myself are running this collection point on a day to day basis. This includes caring for poorly hens, answering enquiries, planning the next rescue and to be honest, sometimes it can be overwhelming as we are planning to move, have got full time jobs plus our own animals to care for and trying to have a family life BUT we are loving what we are doing.
So what are the plans for 2024? Pretty much the same! However, as mentioned before, if you feel you want to be part of this and really make a difference, we would love to hear from you. It can be as little or as much time as you would like to invest of your spare time and we can promise you, you will fit right in as it’s all about saving these beautiful souls.
We hope you will follow us next year on our adventures. Team work makes the dream work!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2024.
Lots of love from Martina, Phil and Jade and all the volunteers # # #
