Still looking to order a Christmas wreath? Let me know, I can deliver locally as well.

But first, I want to tell you about my wreaths…

Silvery greys, blues and lilac add to this year’s design topped off with a long purple velvet ribbon.

Its important to highlight just how time consuming it is to make one of these monsters and that most just think foliage comes off a ‘tree’ plucked from some imaginary forest which is run by the Lidl guy! All for free! I don’t suppose it’s considered I had my electricity and heating on whilst I made these!

There are seven different foliages in my wreath plus eucalyptus, viburnum berries, thistles, berried ivy and dried flowers - a velvet ribbon. All sustainably made using a moss base which you can recycle in the new year when your wreath is not needed.

It takes more than an hour to produce one not including mossing the metal frame; not to mention someone bringing together the design. I have seen Waitrose sell their wreaths for £45 this year and they look nothing like mine or my other floristry friends’ wreaths. So please, when you are considering parting with your hard earned cash (which I know it is) consider apples for apples. When you buy a wreath from a florist you are purchasing a luxury item with A1 raw materials, often not foraged and skillfully made for a unique look xx

We are doing wreaths this Saturday at the wonderful Walford Mill in their courtyard - yay!

Open 10-4 there will be plenty of Christmas cheer, craft sellers, hot drinks and delightful goodies at the wonderfully pink cafe!

Light rain forecast but no gales or heavy rain so winner winner Christmas dinner - just wrap up warm, wear a hat or bring your brolly 🦃

Come say hi and buy a wreath …all fresh and smelling divinely Christmassy. We will also have some arrangements for your home and some gifts for your loved ones which can be ordered ready for collection / delivery over the Yuletide.

THIS IS HOW…💫

Loving seeing my feed filled with ideas and suggestions of how to style your home at Christmas 🎄 I often get asked whether my house is styled to the nines at this time of year considering what I do for a living…the answer is sadly not! 🤣 I wish I had the time!

We also moved house this year so we’re currently in the super fun process of picking paint colours and planning how we want things to be 🙌

If like me you love the idea of adding a touch of festive glam but you don’t have the time to go all out, opt for simple, delicate stems of candlelight amongst white florals and greenery for that all round elegant feel!

And here it is...high tides and good vibes ...

16/09/2023

Suffice to say that this year has been a challenging one and it has had an impact on where I thought Beulah Flowers would be now. However, what it has reminded me is a) you cannot change what was never meant to be and b) the hard times eventually ease if you just keep going. There have, however, been some lovely days spent, good memories made and new-found personal happiness. It has also been a time where I built new relationships with some lovely local Suppliers. None more so than the day where this photo was captured by the talented FramesbyBen - Photography and Video...

It was taken on one of the few balmy hot evenings earlier in Summer and I will remember the challenges of little footpaths, walking through fields and over stiles to get to the headland. My idea of Beachy Boho vibes along our local Jurassic Coast seemed a good idea and I think we achieved that!

This particular photo was invited onto Your Hampshire & Dorset Wedding magazine 100th edition front cover which has just been published.

G O L D E N

Whilst the weather might not be golden Friday certainly was in Studland! Last month Janice contacted me requesting flowers for her parent’s 50th wedding anniversary.

Whilst working overseas, on a boat, Janice managed to arrange the most perfect and romantic day even hiring the same Ford Cortina her Dad had bought years ago and arranging a chauffeur driven trip around the Purbecks. I made a small posy for Mrs G to carry ‘on board’ full of local colourful flowers but most importantly some Marguerite daisies as her wedding bouquet was full of them. I began to fret when several flower growers said they had been battered with the rain but luckily secured some and we popped them in for a little surprise …

At 5pm I popped down to The Pig on the Beach at Studland to deliver a large basket of flowers for their early evening dinner celebration and yes, it contained daisies (we even had white echinaceas on standby!). Mr & Mrs G had dined there years ago when it was a very different style of hotel.

Here’s to old love. My we celebrate it but also learn from it.

Happy Golden Anniversary Mr & Mrs G and thank you Janice for asking me to be a very small part of a very special day full of personal touches.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

The strongest among us aren’t those who show strength you can see, but those who have won incredible inner battles you know nothing about. So be kind. You can’t always see people’s pain, but they can always feel your kindness. Being kind to people is a peaceful way to live, and a beautiful legacy to leave behind.

P E R F E C T L Y…

perfect combination of purple and blue hues with that lime green pop of viburnum.

Here I am wheeling in reception flowers, displayed in large apothecary style glass vases, oblivious to the fact my hair looks like a mullet 🤦🏼‍♀️

CLOUDS …

cleared and the sun came out for Katie and Toby’s wedding yesterday at the stunning Holdsworth House.

The colour palette of blues and purples of all different tones complimented the stunning garden with it’s tulips and bluebells.

Vases of wild flowers for the reception, sweet jam jars for a ladder of photo frames representing loved ones no longer with the couple, flower filled apple crates for the aisle entrance leading down to a pretty arch of wild foliage and flowers.

On a personal note, it’s been great to return where I used to live seeing friends old and new and familiar haunts! Every wedding is tiring but I’ve managed to really chill and have a laugh with old friends so it’s been so, so so good; can’t wait to be back in July for another wedding x

Back together again. ❤️🤍💙

Hansa was helping to arrange her cousin’s wedding and sent an image of a buttonhole made up of dried flowers as they all loved it. I was very excited as this didn’t sound your typical Asian wedding brief full of faux roses!

Using the photo as inspiration, I created a bridal bouquet and six bridesmaid’s bouquets using dried flowers only. There was eucalyptus, ruscus, lavender, delphinium, carnations, roses, bunny tails and other delightful things!

I think the bouquets are so different, the photo doesn’t capture their beauty at all and they complimented the copper of the abayas, perfectly.

If you love dried flowers and are thinking of having them for your wedding, drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you.

Slight bit of sleet this morning but it seems a lot less windy than yesterday, thankfully.

Hope none of you lost any trampolines to Storm Eunice yesterday (or beloved trees).

We will be at The Castle Inn in Spofforth showcasing some table arrangements and an arch so please pop in we are here 10-2 with the team helping show the venue and it’s rooms to lovely brides and grooms!

The church is also here (well the vicar!) to provide an alternative if you prefer to marry at the village church. The church is a short walk and is decked out with flowers etc so you can envisage how it looks.

Then why not brace yourself for a walk around the castle’s grounds and back to The Castle Inn for some sustenance!!

I’m still rocking Valentines vibes with reds, pinks, lilacs today using the most gorgeous Red Panther rose as the focal bloom but we also have lots of ranunculus and tulips on show. These babes survived the storm yesterday and adding a bit of Spring colour.

Hope to see you later. I’m off to tend to my hair. Due to the yesterday’s 💨 , it looks like Tina Turner’s on steroids 🤣

STORM EUNICE //

Has everyone survived and the trampoline’s still in the garden?!

Well today has been interesting! I didn’t have far to go, just 40 minutes from home to The Castle Inn at Spofforth but lots of roads flooded.

The plan was to set up the floral arch in the marquee to showcase the outdoor area, where you can get married, but that wasn’t happening! With many efforts to keep the marquee in situ Mother Nature had other plans so the arch was carried inside. The babes survived the windy journey and although looks a bit different to how I set it up, still looks beautiful.

Still channelling the Valentines vibes I went for Rose Red Panther because it’s awesome with its pink splodges then Rose New Orleans as I loved it’s mauve tones and thought it contrasted well. I added birch for a bit of rustic and even some gold in there for some pizzazz because why not. The nights are drawing out😜

For fear of it turning Christmassy I added some Spring Babes - my fav ranunculus in the palest of pink ‘Hanoi’ and British tulips from Smith & Munson in fiery red, lilac and cerise. Threw in a uber deep purple carnation for good measure. Hey presto, a large bowl arrangement perfectly sized for The Castle Inn’s round tables.

I’m teetotal and it’s been a dry January, let me tell you! Thank goodness the longest ever month is nearly over …still a week to go officially BUT the end is nigh. 🙌🏻

Will you treat yourself to a little something as soon as you get paid?!

Here is a beautiful naked cake by atop with fresh blooms wired individually by myself. Isn’t it beautiful?!

What I wouldn’t do to eat a slice of cake right now 🍰 😀

You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)

What was your favourite song? This one☝🏻was mine. It was released the year I was born -1977.

But when I was at school out came I'd Do Anything For Love and that was in the charts for literally eons. He was great; could have been an opera singer but chose sweaty rock instead. Mask wearer or not, may the rest in peace. Your songs will live on. I feel a little peace of my childhood died today 🖤

A wild and rambling bouquet full of blush and ivory blooms and lush foliage for a wedding on a Hot Summer Night (and day).

FLOWER GIRL //

Have you had a lovely cosy Sunday? Dreaming about payday and what you are going to buy as a pat on the back to getting through January?!

I've had a cosy day working on some branding for Beulah ready for the year ahead. Catching up with and excited to hear that has a book out-woohoo!! Cannot wait!

Here is the cutest little flower girl, walking down the aisle with the chief bridesmaid, carrying a little basket of rose petals. I wired on blush and white flowers to the basket and finished it with a little silk ribbon.

NEW YEAR. NEW WEBSITE.

It’s only taken me a year to get around to it but I’ve finally launched my website - yay!

www.beulahfloraldesign.co.uk (link above in bio 👆🏻)

I’ve paused the shop for a few weeks whilst I prep for Valentines offerings but everything is working - contact form for enquiries and sign up for forthcoming news etc. Any feedback gratefully received - good or bad it’s been a labour of love paused by Covid!

I’ve had a lovely Holiday, did you? Mine was quiet and fairly restful. I was sad that ‘rona put paid to meeting up with two of my Dubai besties. I’ve not seen one of them in 12 years but what’s a few more months, right, when you’ve waited that long! I touch based with other friends in the Land of Sand and New Zealand with wishes from as far away as the US and Philippines! How blessed am I?!

Happy New Year everyone. May 2022 be a corker 🥳

I’m hanging on to the Bank Holiday like anything but excited for the year ahead and all it’s going to bring.

So for me tonight it’s left over party food and BBC 2’s Inside Dubai: Playground of the Rich tonight. 💖 Enjoy!

// YAAASS //

You got engaged?! Congratulations to you both 🥂

So you are starting to plan and pin all the loveliness you see. Perhaps you are wanting a slightly wild and abundant style? Maybe a little boho; with or without the pampas. Intimate elopement or something a little bigger.

I would love to hear from you! Drop me a line and we can have a chitchat. I still have some availability for 2022 as well.

Finally got my wreath up today. I've gone a bit wild and dishevelled with this one - it's full of spruce, fir, rosemary, eucalyptus, cypress Arizona and olive with simple white dried accents and finished it off with a silver grey velvet ribbon. I've enjoyed making it - a bit of me time out in the not so cold shed aka studio.

I've not been here for such a long time but it's time to start popping up on here a bit more. I'm annoyed with myself that I haven't as I know the algorithms love regular interaction but I just found everything so difficult; mentally and physically I just haven't been able to spur myself on.

I caught the dreaded Covid back in early September which developed into Long Covid. It has been horrendous and can honestly say that apart from a massive stomach op ten years ago and meningitis I had as a teenager, I've never been so ill. I have been through all the symptoms but worst of all, chronic fatigue.

But small miracles happen and in the past two weeks or so i can do more, consistently each day. I'm not overdoing it as I can't but I feel I am finally getting better. Hope is everywhere!

Although something we had never heard of a month is ruling our lives, I hope everyone enjoys an Omicron-free Christmas and has a lovely and restful time. We just have to get through these sh*tty days. Here's to 2022 greatness xx
