Bloom & Bramble Gardening Services
We are a team of skilled and experienced female gardeners who work all over Dorset.
With a bunch of qualifications and several years of experience between us we love all aspects of gardening.
For anyone who may be interested, Leo is just lovely and it would be a great opportunity
We have an important message for all our lovely customers.
We are having a big change at Bloom and Bramble! Louise has become increasingly busy with her Forest School and is unable to keep up with the demands of such a busy gardening business too. So, we have made the decision as a group to each focus on our own gardening businesses.
Caroline will continue as Sweet Pea Gardening Services, Erin as Jade Gardening. and Louise will continue Bloom and Bramble but as a garden design service. We have loved working as a team over the last few years and will all support each other and enjoy tea and cakes together on a regular basis!
Caroline and Erin will carry on with as many of their regular jobs as possible, with many of them as a pair, so there won’t be much of a change for most customers. We will contact each of you individually over the next few days to let you know how you will be affected.
Any new enquiries can be made to Erin who will be working in several areas, or Caroline who will be focusing on Wareham and Wool.
May we take this opportunity to say thank you for all the support you have given us since starting the business, we never imagined we would be as busy as we are!
Best wishes,
Louise, Erin and Caroline
Beautiful morning today
The acers we planted in the autumn are really thriving here next to this pond
…and we LOVE the gorgeous scent of the cherry tree 🍒

Afternoon spent clearing out and around this pond, with the help of our little kitty friend 🐱

The tulip lawn wave we planted in the winter looks lush.
With a little mishap with a mower (oops) the dogs now have a colourful hurdle to jump over 😂😍 🐾
Is it….is it too early to start talking about yet? 😂
It’s April and we’re all eager to get the mower out but just look at these lawns left with a little bit of magic in them!!

Haven’t we been blessed with lovely weather…and for a few days in a row 🤩

Beautiful daffodils from today 🌞

Bit of a before and after from todays job. Lots of clearing had to be done to open up the space and allow some light and air in.

Spent the afternoon chopping away two dumpy bags worth of brambles and ivy from these beds…next will be to dig out the roots and prune everything that had been tangle up
Very tired now

Thank you for all your lovely feedback. We appreciate you all ❤️
Some prettiness on this sunny day ☀️ 🌸
A clear up from a few weeks ago.
It’s always fun to look back and see the transformation ✨

Some false morels at this mornings job in Sandford. Definitely not the edible kind but a cool find nonetheless ☺️

We’ve been working away at this garden. We’ve spent so much time pulling ivy off of everything.
It’s so nice to see it’s beginning to move forward and take shape.
Todays job was to transfer the soil from the rotting raised beds, to the borders and other wildflower area.
The what once was a raised bed area, will be patio for pots, to allow easier planting for this client 💚
I’m a little bit tired now though 😆

That time of year we get a short burst of magnolias. Soak them up now because they don’t last long 🥹

Quick before and after 🌳

We love our narcissus and lost count of how many we planted last year, but it’s lovely seeing them all pop up! Do you have any in your garden? Show us your pics 🌼

Very soggy morning moving very soggy soil
Who’s ready? 😬
In the autumn we encouraged our customers to save their fallen leaves to make leaf mould. It’s a wonderful way to recycle, cut down on waste and make the most gorgeous compost/mulch for your garden.
Here’s some I made from the previous autumn! All you need are a couple of black bin liners with holes made in them and somewhere out of the way to forget about them. Just look at those brandling worms 😬🪱

Lots of bulb lasagnes beginning to come up

Are you interested in conserving water in your garden?
With the previous droughts we have experienced and the likelihood of those continuing each year, there are a few things we can do to help with moisture retention in the soil and to conserve water
💧 introduce a water butt or 2 or 3 (the more the merrier)
💧 mulch, mulch, mulch…this means the soil doesn’t dry out. Leaf mould, bark, compost, manure or all good
💧 irrigation - there’s lots of alternatives, some you can manually turn on and off or drip irrigation
💧a rain garden! These are gardens designed in a way to capture & absorb surface run off. You don’t have to redesign your whole garden either, perhaps start with an area you don’t manage to water.
