Mission accomplished! In the early hours of Sunday morning I, together with 10 incredible women, climbed Mount Snowdon, at night, in memory of my beautiful daughter, Annabel, who sadly passed away in October, aged just 11 years old. Together we have raised almost £30,000. Thank you to all of you that have supported us. It was gruelling and physically the hardest thing we have ever done.

This time next week I will be travelling to Snowdonia with 11 very special women to embark on an incredible challenge.
We will be climbing Mount Snowdon, at night, reaching the summit at sunrise, raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, in memory of my beautiful daughter, Annabel, who sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in October. Annabel was just 11 years old.

These last six months have been the darkest of days. Each and every day has been a considerable challenge. Losing Annabel will continue to be the biggest mountain I will ever have to climb.
For now, I will start with small steps by climbing Mount Snowdon.
As Becky Hemsley - Talking to the Wild writes in the thought provoking poem The Climb ‘Remember, from the bottom the only way is up’.
The Climb
“They say that when you’re broken
This is how the light gets in
But what if all the cracks
Are letting out the light within?
They say it makes you stronger
But at first it makes you weak
The way you face the mountain base
Before you reach the peak
They say to break is brave
And yet your mind is full of dread
You’re not overwhelmed by courage
But by hopelessness instead
But admitting you are breaking
Is far braver than you know
And remember, from the bottom
There is just one way to go
See, I think they mean it isn’t just
That breaking makes you strong
But the way you use the embers
Of your will to carry on
It’s triumph over trauma
And it’s healing after hurt
It’s rising from the ashes
With a new-found sense of worth
So find yourself a candle
And allow its tiny spark
To ignite you back to life
And put the fire back in your heart
And grant yourself compassion
For the times that you feel weak
Just rest until you’re strong enough
To get back on your feet
See, I know that when you’re broken
You have only threads of hope
But tie them to the mountain
Like your personal safety rope
Then gather at the bottom
With the summit high above
Then take a breath and take a step
The only way is up”
The Climb is from the magnificent What The Wild Replied. https://amzn.eu/d/32KOr1w I would absolutely recommend it. ❤️
As I continue to navigate through the horror of losing Annabel, walking, temporarily, frees my mind from the fear and darkness that consumes me daily.
This morning, we walked above the clouds, training at Malvern Hills in preparation for climbing Snowdon, at night, in nine weeks time, raising money in memory of Annabel for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Thank you for supporting me with this challenge.

Annabel, my beautiful daughter and only child, passed away on the 14th October, aged just 11. The absolute horror, the crushing panic, the pain, the grief, the utter devastation has been truly unimaginable every single day since.
The loss of Annabel is felt in every breath I take, like a huge, dense, dark, heavy, mass permanently fixed to my chest and throat. I can barely breathe without her. Words cannot express how much I miss Annabel, it’s inconceivable.
Much of my existence since Annabel’s passing has been curled on the sofa, in deep shock, darkness, feeling complete sorrow, distress and hopelessness. I am living a nightmare, intensified so much more over Christmas and New Year.
Desperate to help, friends have suggested doing a challenge, to give me focus, to motivate me to leave the house and to raise money in Annabel’s memory.
Annabel was an incredible child, loved by all who met her. Annabel was my greatest gift and she brought so much intense love, joy and happiness into my life. Our bond was like no other. We enjoyed so many hobbies and fun experiences together. However, one thing Annabel did not enjoy so much was walking far. If I suggested a long walk, on a weekend, Annabel would have a little grumble. We would often joke about it.
I will be climbing Snowdon, at night, in 12 weeks time, on the 2nd April, together with some incredible friends, to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital in Annabel’s memory.
Annabel would not have wanted to do this challenge, but she would have been so proud of me for attempting it. Annabel was my biggest cheerleader. I miss her love and enthusiasm so much. Please support me in raising money in her memory and help leave a greater legacy in Annabel’s name.

On the 14th October my life changed forever. My beautiful daughter, Annabel Greenhalgh, died unexpectedly, aged just 11. I am utterly heartbroken.
We would like to raise money for two very special charities in Annabel's memory, Birmingham Children's Hospital and The Fluency Trust. We would like to keep funds as equal as possible. I am grateful for all donations, large or small.
Please see the link to the Just Giving page. Please share far and wide.
As many of you will know my inspiration to become a Reflexologist was my incredible daughter Annabel. I am completely and utterly devastated to announce the passing of Annabel on Friday 14th October.
The magnitude of my shock, grief and complete emptiness is unimaginable. She was the centre of my universe.
Annabel was an inspiration to all. She had a beautiful, kind soul. She was gentle, phenomenally bright, fun and always inclusive of everyone. I will not be returning to reflexology for some time but there are other excellent AoR registered Reflexologists in Warwickshire. Please refer to the website to find a qualified reflexologist. A randomized clinical trial on the effect of FOOT REFLEXOLOGY performed in the fourth stage of labor on uterine afterpain
“The results revealed that foot reflexology in the fourth stage of labor has positive effects on relief from uterine afterpain. Reflexology is therefore recommended as a measure to reduce postpartum uterine afterpains. “
The present study was extracted from an approved master’s thesis in midwifery at Gonabad University of Medical Sciences, funded by the Research and Technology Deputy of the university….. “.

Like many, I am thrilled January is out of the way. I am hopeful February will be a much happier, healthier month for all of us.
The early years can be stressful at times for both parents and children. Whether the stress is due to colic, changes in sleep pattern, new habits, emotions or common ailments, reflexology can aid relaxation and improve wellbeing for all ages.
