Withymoor Colts FC U16's West
under 16s grassroots football team, Sunday league and stourbridge league.
So i took this team over before it folded, beginning of the season, some of the lads have been together for fair few years, met some lovely people on this journey but these lads have taught me never to give up we have had some new lads turn up and we are growing as a team! These lads are what keeps grassroots, grassroots ! What a cracking bunch of lads !
Withymoor west away at Wollaston home ground today,
The game started off strong for withy lads today with the back four remaining strong and stopping everything from nial, Louis, ethan and law, strongest defense we've had all season and manning it 100% with the new editions Liam and nial standing out with Chrissy t playing phenomenal in the center the withy lads were dominating the game back and fourth first comes and audacious strike from Brandon to make 1 nil followed by oli h with the 2nd outstanding performance, wollaston then netted making it 2 - 1, with withy lads defending and heading every ball was showing off our talent on the pitch. Incredible balls being played from our captain Curt, Liam and Chris t and Dt was showing our training paid off, even tho dt was under the weather still managed to pull off a great assist performance and a half, as a coach we'll chuffed.
Our keeper saving shots left right and center brilliant, ollie then took another great goal from assist from Liam our new player, brilliant to see and then Brandon ruining the opposition on his own left right and center (words from wollaston) Brandon then took the ball into the box and was brought down which lead to a penaltie which our captain Curt stepped up to sail a 4th goal in the withy lads took the lead at 4 - 1 and walked a way with a well deserved 3 points.
Well done withy lads

Sorry match reports haven't been uploaded got side tracked, 3 weeks ago we draw a agasint Forest Falcons 1 -1, then a postponement either Smethwick raiders, then we had Trysull tigers in a cup game which sadly we lost 4 - 1 we left the cup at the first round. Couple of new signings we had with a debt goal in the process and Dan or winger been covering LB position and excelling well. Well done Dan man of the match twice and ethan and Dan t also man of the match in the process.
Withymoor West walked out today for our 4th game of the season, We was up agasint Forest Falcons.
The lads took of on a strong foot and got stuck in from the moment the whistle blew for kick off, We managed to win majority of the balls from the air which has been some of our weakest points I the past but for some reason it was our strongest point well done withymoor west, as the game battled our first tremendous goal was set up by Dan T which saw Ollie strike a superb finish and in the net it went which took us up to 1 - 0, Game was back to back with challenging and heavy battling and before we knew it Brandon added another goal to his tally which was set up by Archie which was a ball what was funded by his tactical mind.
Whistle blew for half time.
Forest Falcons 0 - 2 Withymoor West
As the second half kick off we dropped abit In the game play and we wad allowing balls to get past us and they shouldn't off but as we do we continued to fight and battle it out. Through the second half we recieved 2 bookings both yellow which started off the streak of bookings hopefully no more to come !
Then out of nowhere we netted another goal from Ollie which was set up by our captain Curt which was an outstanding set up by the captain and ollie took it well. Withymoor west 3 - 0.
Final whistle blew.
Forest Falcons 0 - 3 Withymoor West.
Man of the match:
Curtis
Archie
Massive appreciation to our CAM player Reece for stepping in when we needed the most this player has gone into defence more than one occasion and bossed it to help keep the team in fighting spirit and helped the team out.
So last Sunday the lads had the 3rd game of the season we went up against Wollaston lions under 16s.
Withymoor took on a new formation which the lads adapted well to it, the game kicked off strong and both teams were battling it out the lads were up and down the pitch putting in a graft which was making things work in our favour a quality ball came from our cm curt which was put through to our winger ollie who unleashed a strike which saw the back of the net what a finish it was which took withymoor 1 - 0 up. The game continued but nothing else came out before half time whistle blew.
Brief half time talk it was moved around a few players ready for second half.
As the second half start the tension was rising the game was getting on and players were getting involved and some spirit was showing and the lads were getting stuck in, our winger ollie put in a assist for our speedy Brandon to connect and also netted the ball with a powerful strike which took us to 2 - 0, not long after Joe our forward put another ball forward and yet again flash Brandon connected and bagged himself his second goal of the game, we was 3 - 0 up cracking second half.
Then the game changed we ended up giving away 2 penalties which was unfortunate but Wollaston was giving what they could and just before the final whistle blew Wollaston got the equaliser which saw us leave at 3 - 3.
Full time withymoor west 3 - 3 Wollaston lions

So today our season officially kicked off, we was up against kidderminister panthers and as the team had been training hard through out all pre season and playing friendlies, been doing heavy fitness training and set peaces, laid out by our management team it finally pulled off for a great start to this season.
A minutes silence was held for her majesty.
Our keeper Oliver walked out as our captain today and lead the team well, as our main captain Curt wasn't present due to illness but the team battled it out from the first whistle, back and fourth up the pitch and adapting to the new style of play.
Dan t had the option to set the bar straight from our 1st corner of the game and as tensions rose he whipped it in and our center back Lewis had used his nogging the right way and headed the ball into the net what a goal from our solid center back well deserved goal it was (1 -0 to withymoot west).
Then the both teams carried it out through the first half then unfortunately we slowed down and a goal was conceded from a set peace agasint us which the lads dropped there heads. Which they shouldn't of but was soon back up to being determined to get the lead back. (1-1 half time).
Stern words at half time.
As the game begun into the second half both sides was giving it there all when we was brought down not far from the half way line, A free kick reasonably far out with the right mentality our chance to retrieve the lead so Dan t stood up for the set peace and delivered a superb goal direct from the position which was out of this world ( the next no 7 fk). Which took withymoor west to 2-1.
All the lads was battling it out constantly and Brandon was back and fourth so was ollie our forward, few chances he had but the keeper put a stop to it.
Brandon out of no where had the ball all the way from our own half and battled it and dribbled all the way to the keeper and took his chance and a netted the ball tremendously well. Which took withymoor to 3 - 1.
Full time: withymoor west 3 & kidderminister panthers 1
Player of the match was tough to choose between

Following the sad passing of Her Majesty the Queen, the SDYFL will be reviewing what action to take in respect of this weekends fixtures.
We expect that The FA or Birmingham County FA will give us some guidance and we will make a decision based on that guidance and we hope to make an announcement as soon as possible.
Thoughts go out to her family.
