Your HBA1C is a window to how your blood glucose levels have been faring in the past days / 3 months.
A level of 5.7 and below means it's normal.
Anything above tells the beginning of something called prediabetes , manageable and reversible though and when it reaches levels above 6.4 meaning it is confirmed diabetes with glucose levels needing attention through diet and lifestyle and/or medication.
